Going by a realistic estimation, Floyd would be about 20 places above Morales on any legitimate top 100 list.

But this is ESB. Floyd's not the most loved guy on here, and Morales can do no wrong in some people's eyes (and fair enough, the guy's a legend).

But people aren't largely voting on that, especially considering that the rabid amount of Floyd haters and Floyd nut-huggers equal out in numbers. It largely comes down to the fact that Morales's wins over a prime MAB and Pacquiao, and Floyd's very deep and impressive resume nonetheless falls short in terms of single wins that match those accomplishments.

    Fair enough.

I can only see Morales somewhere in the top 70 (60-70ish).

Floyd, to me, is top 50 (somewhere between 40-50).

And I base that on everything, including resume.

just for reference, where do you rank pacquiao and barrera in your ATG list? add hopkins and oscar as well if you have them.

Pac is also top 50, probably also between 40-50.

I'd have Hopkins above Hoya but below both Pac/Floyd. There's an argument that he could also make top 50 (and let's be real here, top 50 is an AMAZING accomplishment), but honestly, wouldn't know exactly where.

Give me 10 years time when all careers are done and dusted, and you'd get a much fairer estimation.

ETA: Barrera would be somewhere around Morales.

but most boxing experts had pacquiao way ahead of floyd at least 10 or at most 20 or 25 places ahead of floyd. pac has achieved much more than what was expected of him than floyd and has a clear resume advantage over floyd. are you ranking floyd higher because of his supposed head-to-head abilitiy or are you not that impressed with pac's career achievements that you rank him lower than most experts?

I disagree with the "most experts" and especially the "20 or 25" places ahead comments.

I simply judge based on what I know, have seen, and have researched.

Pac has an amazing resume, no doubt.

Floyd's, imo, has an underrated one.

Yes, it could be better. But people tend to put Floyd on a higher pedestal and judge him harsher than others based on that.

Perhaps that could be because of this supposed H2H ability you refer to. Not sure.

But I don't go by that.
