Is there a legitimate reason why Bute should not accept a fight with Andre Dirrell?

I don't know. Seems as though it would be a decent fight, where I would actually have to favor Dirrell.

Is there a legitimate reason why Ward won't accept a fight with Bute or Dirrell? No.

He's afraid of an A-level fighter.

Dirrell doesn't match the criteria of a Bute opponent

OK. Thanks for answering the question. I'll take that as a "No"

Has Bute actually said he wouldn't?

I'm not a huge Bute fan, I've made that clear but the man is a World Champion and if Andre Dirrell wants to challenge for the belt he needs more than a win over Daryl Cunningham, there's guys like Mendy, or Bika that he should go fight, then he'll of earned the right to challenge.

Dirrell has a pretty decent victory over Abraham. I dunno, but I don't think Bute has really beaten anyone of that pedigree.

He'd make less money if he fights Dirrell, who has no fanbase at all.

There's no reason to avoid the best possible challenges, that's for sure.

Nevermind the bull**** spilled the last few days about what Showtime wanted. You can take to the bank that Froch will be in Montreal in April to fight Bute.

It'll be that fight because Froch is presently higher up in the SMW echelon and it's a fight that sells easily because of the animosity built between the two boxers over the years.

Why doesn't anyone ever ask for Andre Dirrell to finally fight Andre Ward like he was suppose to in the S6 ?

The issue is his inactivity, he's never been champion so he's starting again as a contender, one win over a C class fighter who fought once in 3 years isn't enough for a title shot IMO.

He'd beat Bika, Allan Green or Mendy, so take these fights and your public exposure, then go after a big fish.

Lets be honest, even the faded version of Glenn Johnson beats Abraham, so does most likely Sakio Bika if he comes well prepared in the ring. I would have actually also taken the 3 year ago version of Andrade to beat Abraham.

I'm sure Bute owuld be happy to fight Dirrel in MSG or AC.......but........would that KO win be enough to satisfy Ward's requirements for a fight.

Plus, would Dirrel risk his his future as a rising star without a tv contract extension. People think this is all about him not wanting to fight, but realistically, how much more is showtime gonna carry Dirrel should he take a fight with Bute and be schooled something aweful. He was afraid to exchange with Abraham, a smallish and slow SMW. How much more afraid would he be of Bute, a slick and powerful and highly skilled, BIG SMW.

I guess time will tell on this one, but I really can't see Dirrel taking this fight without either a huge 3+ mil guarantee or a 3-5 fight deal with Showtime.:think
