The thing is, Young had a great chin, and although Morrisson did not, he certainly proved he could take punishment in the Ruddock fight. Byrd never proved that his chin was on the level of these fighters. I also don't think he proved himself to be on the level of these 2 fighters ability wise either.

Not even mentioning that Foreman wasn't at his best when he fought these 2 fighters. Of course Byrd would have some success against the lumbering comeback-Foreman, but that doesn't mean he'd have anything near the same successes against the Foreman who mopped the floor with a prime Frazier and Norton, 2 fighters with more guile than Byrd could ever have. I don't think the Foreman of the Young fight was as detached from a peak Foreman as some say, but the fact that it wasn't Foreman at his absolute peak mentally which suggests that you can't read too much into it.
