Good idea. I would like to see him go to 160. Some much more winnable fights. I'm not very keen on him fighting Ward, Kessler, Bute, Hopkins and maybe even Dawson. Just from a technical perspective where I think they all might win a decision.

At 160 his power might be more telling and he seemingly makes 168 easy.

Imagine if he could secure fights with Sturm, Martinez or Chavez. Only Martinez is the difficult fight there.

I know Froch doesnt drain himself at all to make 168lbs so who knows, I never really thought about it as being an option.

This statement is a clear duck of Cleverly's challenge, Froch is ducking Clev and yet no one gives him ****. :-(

Can you duck someone that isn't on your level to begin with?

Clev is the LHW world champion, Froch holds no belt, Clev is on a higher level.

Fighters make the belts, not the other way around. Maybe once Cleverly actually fights some top tier competition for that title Froch will consider coming to Wales and knocking him out. :blurp

Froch isn't a massive SMW. He's a big guy, but he stays so close to to the weight I doubt he cuts much.

He would just be dreadfully slow at 160. Or even slower in comparison to the guys there (well, Sergio) and I don't think he's going to suddenly become a massive puncher down there either.

A different approach to weight will see Frochy with less training time to keep honing whatever awkward skills he has.

Pavlik is easy pickings for Carl IMO. Him, then Kessler rematch. If he somehow wins that, maybe he gets one more crack at a big(gish) fight and retires.

160, whilst achievable IMO, is not somewhere I imagine he'll be successful at, and I'm not up for him taking more beatable domestic names like Macklin, Murray :)-() or a TR-esque in-house Barker :tong

Clev' might well walk through Carls punches and outwork him, but I still favour Carl's awkward angled jab and experience to win through, and I don't imagine he'll have too much trouble with Clev's punches. It's interesting, but I think Carl should stay at his best weight, there are still fights out there for him (Dirrell II; Taylor II; Stieglitz if he 'beats' Kessler as well as the aforementioned Pavlik/Kessler) and I see no shame in just picking up a strap from now on and proving yourself a top contender in a still-stacked division rather than chasing straps/glory in other divisions.

Carl has done himself proud whatever he goes on to do, so good luck to him whatever he chooses

He's nearly 35, bit late to be trying to go to a lower weight class and the body gets denser with age. Doesn't mean he'll have a strength advantage either if he drains down too.

Clev issues challenge, Froch decides to move down to an unnaturally low weight to avoid the fight, surely you can see this duck for what it is?

The bias on this forum is unprecedented.

Serves Clev right for being Welsh, tbh.

Only good things to come out of Wales:

    1) Jimmy Wilde
    2) Catherine Zeta-Jones
    3) My dog

    Christian Bale doesn't count - he's English.

    :-( That's low.

...and Bale is as Welsh as Welsh can be.

He's English, deal with it. Just happened to be born in Wales as his family moved around a lot. He was mostly raised in London, and considers himself English.

Batman wants nothing to do with Wales.

I don't think hed be very big at LHW but he seems to get the better of most of the LHW he spars
