I have to agree PB.I have noticed on several boxing subjects Mr Magic does know his stuff and can be a very reasonable poster,but he's caught in a war with some of the most militant fanatics on ESB,a lot of whom are not representative of several Bute fans who can at least keep it civil and are only being loyal to their guy. Badlok,I'm not surprised you came on here and remained civil.You truly are one of the good guys,and if you look hard enough,he's not alone,there are several Bute fans who can keep it within a reasonable code of conduct. But there are others who love to jump on the bandwagon when someone is getting it tight and it becomes like a gang of bullies kicking **** out of one guy. Hang in there Mr Magic.I don't agree with any racism or xenophobia,I don't expect anyone to let you slaughter them as an ethnic group so you should try to avoid making this an Anti-Canadian/Romanian thing(you can't expect people not to get upset about that) and stick to boxing facts or opinions and you will return to the high moral ground.The only thing more cowardly than leaving a thread where you're taking abuse is joining in with the cowardly gang mentality when there is a debate or argument between TWO people.Like I said,it's not very sporting to make it about nationality but the comments about porn and race,etc are the worst example of inappropriate,childish and senseless posting and says more about the people who pretend to find it funny just because you're anti-Bute.They'd be pretty disgusted if it was aimed at a Bute fan.I had the gang doing a virtual jump on me just because one of the top men of their "firm" started it.Luckily,there were several very decent ESB Bute fans who did the right thing afterwards and that's why I always try to be a lot more civil on threads about Lucien Bute nowadays. Stick to the boxing Mr Magic,it always pays to stick to something you know a good deal about.You will always have fans who are fanatically loyal to Bute but there are a few who really bring something to the table. Shaunster,you are still the funniest poster on ESB.
Notice that both Bute and Calzaghe stay at home and fight less than top level opposition. That's why they have mutual haters. Of course, Bute still has the opportunity to forge a respectable career, so it is a little unfair to lump him in with Slappy Joe. The old man Johnson fight was very Slappy-esque.

I think a good portion of the Bute fans enjoy my posts, even when I'm quite obviously exaggerating with my trolling attempts. But you're right, my Romanian/Canadian stuff is way out of line. I apologize to anyone who was offended by those direct comments. Bute is still an overprotected hypejob.
Not at all. Hopkins runs his mouth too much and they were both too old for the fight to have much meaning. When your biggest test is getting senior citizen discounts, that doesn't say much about you.
I made a similar thread months ago called Bute Hating 101, and it got deleted after 6 pages. :conf Truth is, only very rarely will you see a fan so to speak, talk boxing on a debate level with a poster who's considered to be trolling. Add 2 and 2 together, you get threads filled with extremely biased posts. At the same time, we sometimes see truth in what the other's saying - and again, only very rarely will you see either side admit it. It's all good I guess, but here's to say times have changed. You go back to '07-08 on ESB, everyone was pretty appreciative in their comments where as only a minority were hating on fighters (very few actually 'trolled', haters were being more than half serious). Just imagine for ONE second, however impossible it seems to you, that Bute scores a lucky power left uppercut to Andre Ward's chin for the KO - how many haters/trolls will actually come back on here giving Bute credit, just how many?!??
Just looking through your post history, I've seen a fair few posts about Joe Calzaghe. Do you not think it's a bit sad to keep bringing up a retired fighter into conversations? Joe had a great career, keep the conversation about Bute, who is Canada's answer to Sven Ottke.
Drozzy,you are most definitely in the goodguy section of the Bute army,but one of the problems with some is that if anyone comes on to give an opinion about Bute that is not positive,he immediately gets labelled a troll.It is a double standard that is only equalled by the more rabid Pacquaio fans.This is why I urge people to seek out the more rational Bute fans who can keep it real. As for that uppercut,I think there would be more than you think.Many people only have misgivings about your man because of the lack of top drawer opponents so far.If he proves himself,you'll realise there's not as much blind hate as you think.:good
Great post. I know. I know, the radicals will label a comment that comes across rather harshly, as that of a troll. I like to think that if I am to debate either cold hard facts or well construed opinions with educated boxing fans I don't know personally, whether on a forum or in real life, I must attenuate my standpoint with a counter possibility to what 'I' think is right. Hence why you'll see my more serious/balanced posts include a certain weight given to those possibilities of my arguments being out to lunch. The sad thing is, some posters will take parts of posts out of context, destroy my overall perspective on a given topic of discussion, and use comments for trolling or straight up mocking purposes. That is all. Always enjoying a rational discussion with you PTF, and you know I have no issue with rating Froch for what he is. :good
i know u hate bute and its ok, cant please everybody. but i have to say u where looking for trouble stating a post like this one. about racism and making it sound like all bute fans are alike. i agree their is no place for such coments. i have to say u are walking a fine line yourself with some of your comments. it should never be about color or religion but about boxing skills and who's who in the boxing world.
hey ptf. its bin a wile. i completly agree with you on this one, but i unfotunatly find it a bit hipocrit the way u end your post. not because its portrayed as a joke as shaunster like to defend himself with that it makes it ok to be racist or bash on a culture. can u explane why its different when mr.magic says it as opposed to shaunster?
