THE WBU world title fight between Perth's Mark Demori and "Dangerous" Damon Reed of the United States is one step closer to being held in Gladstone in March.
Anthony Coleiro has been working hard to host this fight, and on Wednesday received some promising support.
"We held an information night on Wednesday," he said.
"Representatives from Buel were in attendance, showing their keen interest in supporting this high-level event.
"Buel are going to pay for Demori's flights, as well as the accommodation for four of the contestants. This is a huge support, but we do need more."
Coleiro is so confident the region will support his bid to host the fight in Gladstone he has locked in a date.
"The 17th of March is the allocated date for the fight. And it is going to happen," he said.
