Lewis had clearly lost a step & he had problems training for the 1st fight. He knew he couldnt carry on at the highest level & walked away from the sport at the right time. I think Lewis would have looked even worse in the rematch & taken a beating.
Vitali stomps Lewis took such a beatdown that he wanted no part of Vitali again and retired when the wbc ORDERED the rematch Vitali effectively punched Lewis into retirement
Lewis wouldv'e been 38 in a rematch, and if he was lighter than 245, I think his power wouldnt have been as effective in a rematch. We've played this thread out, but I guess in 2055, when we're all old and grey, we'll still be making this thread about once a month. I got Vitali by T/KO or RTD. I don't think Lennox had the will to go the distance in another war, and the possiblity of Vitali being stopped on cuts again isn't a tenable likelihood. Lord knows Lennox aint dropping him......eeeeevvvvveeeerrr.:nono
Vitaly won't be the first to KTFO LL he will be just third fighter to do it. Whoever voted for decision is wrong there can never be a decision between those two and nobody ever outbox Vitaly yet. If he had no motivation to fight Vitaly then how about from todays prospective since Vitaly is so dominant( much more then LL ever was). Personally I see this fight as a carbon copy of Sanders fight with Vitaly.
atsch what the hell makes you believe this... Sanders and Lennox are two completely different style boxers
