Come 2mo afternoon so one of last years light-welter finalists will definitely be out  I thought with the seeding in place that Hickey and Sutcliffe would be kept apart

Looks like Hickey and Moylett were seeded which is the correct decision they have both beaten young Phil in the last two seniors.

My mate Chris Devaney drew Davey 'Shiteindabucket' Joyce at +91kg.

Chris lost a MD to Joyce two years ago so it will be interesting to see how this one goes because Chris has only been boxing 3 years.

He's only been boxing 3 years? Christ, that's a surprise. His name sounds very familiar from throughout the last few years inters and under-21s, etc. Seems to have a few very impressive results under his belt. Fair play, considering he's only been boxing for such a short period.

Yeah he had a charity white collar fight there about 4 years ago and the Reynolds brothers thought he had something about him and he got stuck into the amateurs properly after that.

He now moved up to Belfast with his missus and boxes out of the Dockers. I've been hammering the local papers about him (they know very little about boxing) and get him some coverage and got good coverage after he won the Intermediates at the end of last year.

A really nice quiet lad but is still a good bit over weight - in my opinion - and should be sub 91kg and I think I will get him over here for some sparring and to see Kerry Kayes about diet and nutrition after the Seniors.

We shall see, I hope he gets one win under his belt anyway for confidence.

Here is a shot our Kev took of him in Sligo at the beginning of last year

And here is a shot which shows that the lad could potentially lose a smidge - him versus Sean 'Big Sexy' Turner would be interesting.

Anthony Joshua stopped him in a round. About a year back its on hatton tv . He could definitely lose some weight . Big sexy beat him handy enough a few year ago in the inters i think
