Well, who wins it...the great Brian London or that 20's mediocrity Jack Dempsey? 15 rounds, as though London's going to let him last a third of that distance.

 Well, don't tell us you're being sarcastic. It's like breaking the fourth wall, mate. Anyway, London by fourth-round KO, if it's the same one that fought Patterson. Sixth round TKO, if it's the Ali version. 14th round RTD if it's the Bugner version.

London is indeed the type of opponent Dempsey's promoter would pick and promote the hell out of

Shommel is so guileless, lol,..he would start a thread like this with no attempt at sarcasm. What I'm actually doing is tweaking all those who persist in downgrading Jack Dempsey. Of course I'm being openly sarcastic..it was almost a Peter McNeely-Jack Dempsey thread.

Cynical though Dempseys promotor was, he set the bar a lot higher than Brian London before he tried to sell the fight.

London did beat Pastrano and Erskine (who beat Henry Cooper) coming into the Patterson fight, he went onto beat fellow challengers McNeeley and Rademacher and go the distance with Cooper and Ingo. He was a decent gatekeeper

More importantly though, he put on a decent showing against Patterson, outboxing him for periods with his jab and right lead and picking off Patterson's shots

London by ko in the first round.

This would be the walkout bout following the main event, which would be the 1983 Scott Frank knocking out the 1974 George Foreman.

I was just thinking of the same thing, Stevie, the minute I saw this.
Definitely a stunning first round ko for Brian the beast London.
