So why did Vitaly duck a rematch with Chris Byrd? Byrd came to Germany on a weeks notice and left with Vitaly's title after he quit. Some would have you believe there was no need for a rematch because the fight wasn't close on the cards. I agree the scoring was wide and it should have been. Thing is all the rounds were close and competitive. This was no walk over until Vitaly hurt his shoulder and gave up. On top of that Vitaly promised the crowd he would get his title back, ie, beat Byrd. Some will say little brother beat him for him. Problem is the brothers are not the same fighter and Vitaly still has the indignity of quitting. So who did Vitaly dick the rematch?

There is a reason why Byrd beat him in the first place. Think about this, and you'll find the answer to your original question.

Vitali was 'Byrded'. He didn't have the balls for a rematch.

Chris Byrd: "Vitali Klitschko is a Joke"

    By Rick Reeno

Chris Byrd in an interview with Boxing writer Tim Smith, called WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko a joke. He said that Danny Williams was nothing more then a punching bag and he hopes to get Vitali in the ring again.

At the moment, Byrd vs. Klitschko 2 is the biggest fight in the heavyweight division. There has been contradicting reports over why the rematch has not been made. The Klitshcko camp claims that King wants options on the fight winner and King has denied those claims.

Than why don't you give us a little insight as to why this rematch never happened when Vitaly promised his fans he would get his belt back (ie, beat Byrd) after quitting in shame?

I don't have to give anything since I'm not claiming anything. You're the one claiming Vitali ducked a rematch with Byrd, so I'll be waiting for you to produce the proof to back up your claim. You know, if you're able to. Until then, you can f*ck off :hi:

Normally the fighter that lost should call for the rematch and not the other way around

    Awwww, somebody sounds upset!!

You want proof.....it never happened! Of course you can try and say Byrd didn't really want it. But why would he rematch Wlad who decisively beat him and not Vitaly, who he had doing his best imitation of an electric fan?

Vitali was afraid of getting viciously knocked out cold again.

It's funny that you linked this and have had nothing to say about the highlighted text.

I guess King is a beacon of all that is good in boxing in your mind and would never throw a spanner in the works.

There's really no point taking this subject any further until you can definatively say this ****ing snake was not involved.

Well lets talk about that than.

Its Klits word against Kings. Im much more apt to take the word of an honorable person like Vitaly over that of a conniving liar like King any day. But even if its true, and it probably is, whats the difference between that and what the Klits do to other fighters today because they're in the drivers seat?

Either way, if Vitaly wanted this rematch there would have been much more written about him pressing for it. No?

Doesn't matter! Vitali is still the champ and Byrd is still a has-been.
