Floyd is wrong if he assumed he's the A-side of this match-up that he can decide things (date, venue, split, etc.) on his own without negotiating or compromising with the other party.

    There's no A-side on this match-up. It's a 50/50 on everything.

Either Pac or Mayweather were gonna fight that weekend regardless (if not against each other). Floyd got there before Pac, and now wants Pacquiao to fight him.

It's not that hard to understand.

60 40 to the winner and 65 35 if the win comes by ko....even at 35% manny would still make the most money he ever has in a fight

What makes zero sense is to build a temporary stadium that will probably cost more than it would make and to suggest a date that is almost a week that your opponent is scheduled to go to jail.

If I were to schedule the biggest fight in history (or in a generation at least) I would have it in the best boxing venue on the planet and on the best PPV date on the boxing calender . . . oh wait, that's May 5th at the MGM!

Personally, I think May 50-50 is fair but PBF did say last time that all bets were off last time things fell threw . . .I guess he is staying true to his word.

I think your point will be deliberately ignored.

Floyd and his fans think Floyd has a monopoly on being the primadonna of boxing. Being the draw you can dictate terms to the likes of Mosley, JMM, Ortiz, Cotto, etc. etc. But you don't dictate terms to an equal draw, or arguably may be an even bigger draw, as Pacquiao. As long as everyone doesn't accept this this fight will not get made.

OSDT or no fight. No? Ducking....
Vegas or no fight. No? Ducking....
May 5 or no fight. No? Ducking....
Bigger purse or no fight. No? Ducking....

    Very well put.

I've ended, or ended the involvement of some, in certain threads. I do let myself get dragged into the mud and trenches every once and a while but try and keep on target with the best information I have for the most part. I only come into the Pac and May threads because of the inadvertent humor they offer.

These lawyer statements bears noting. As Philla stated; from as far back as November the 2nd, Floyd already had a fight lined up at a specific date, at a specific venue, and most notably of all...was specifically not against Manny Pacquiao. This came from the mouth of Floyd's own lawyer upon his deposition to the judge. Don't Floyd fans find this the least but curious? It's interesting to me that blind fanboyism can be so strong as to overcome incriminating lil footnotes such as this.

Of course when I say the named opponent was specifically not Pacquiao...it's based on the logical assumption that Pacquiao had no prior knowledge of any of this (or maybe someone from Floyd's camp forgot to fax Pac a contract?) and presumably was busy training for the JMM fight.

Also worth noting here, is nothing on the court order precludes Floyd from fighting on a later date...he just couldn't because he already has a fight lined up for May 5th. However, the lawyer says it could technically be breached. There's
no legal obligation to MGM. But he explains there are collateral consequences for breaching them. This is in effect saying they've made a commitment already to somebody else. If this weren't the case, they could move it to a later date if they really wanted to fight Pacquiao. *****s, of course, just don't want to face these highly incriminating details.

    Thanks. :good

I agree with your reasoning. From this we can gather that all what Floyd is doing is just posturing. They already have somebody else lined up on May 5th, contracts are in placed.

Or maybe, it got me thinking, it is Pacquiao they have negotiated to fight on May 5th. All of these back and forth media war between the two are just for hyping the fight up. This will be confirmed if May 5th comes and Pac-May fights.

However if Floyd fights another fighter other than Pacquiao on May 5th then it is safe to conclude that he was indeed just posturing and the one who doesn't want to fight. We'll know in due time.
