    Is there still a nego?

or we're done with this statement:

“He asked about a 50/50 split and I told him no that can’t happen, but what can happen is you can make more money fighting me than you have made in your career. I also let him know I’m in control on my side and he needs to get on the same page as his promoter so we can make this fight happen.” - Floyd Mayweather

the thing is there is no way to prove who said what exactly so until the dust settles and Floyd says to the media "yep i said he cannot have 50/50 even though he has agreed to may 5th, tests, and MGM" the email isnt proof enough in my eyes i would prefer a video of him saying it or a statement released to more than one news anchor

then I will be glad to admit it was Mayweather that put the nail in the coffin for this fight but until then everyone involved on both sides is at fault

I still dont buy into either of them being afraid to fight or ducking as its called just there are way too many ego's clashing.I like both fighters i do lean more towards Mayweather but Pac deserves 50/50 in my eyes.they are both superstars and both should get a share for a fight they created because of their respective talents

I have just finished watching When we were kings "the rumble in the jungle" and Ali and Foreman both agreed to 50/50 straight up, now Ali is the self proclaimed greatest of all time with a big profile (yes different profile to mayweathers bigger and better at that time but stay with me) and Foreman was the unstoppable force that everyone wanted to see if he could destroy Ali ...sound familiar ? yet these two men didnt argue who should get a lions share as far as what i have read/seen they wanted the fight why cant these two Pac and May do the same?

Yeah, Floyd pursued him, went through 35 different Arum excuses, even called Pacquaio himself, said he wanted over 50% and he's the one ducking.

someone told us 2x here that they're still under nego... but that statement said by Floyd makes me convince that it is very firm and very clear that he already put a nail in his coffin that he dont want to negotiate and fight with Pacquiao unless he backtracks that he never said that statement.

Honestly, this is all I can say.. I can't see how Mayweather would spin this whole call out thing and justify not taking 50/50 except using the Pacquiao statement about taking a lesser share as his reasoning.. And even then, if 50/50 is the only way to get the fight made then it should happen.

Arum has shown he doesn't want it with all the excuses that's come out lately.. But if Floyd won't budge off 50/50 I don't think he fully intended to fight May 5th either, because I don't recall hearing anything prior to Pac's statement that less than 50/50 was considered for him.

With everything that is coming out from both Floyd and Bob's mouth, it's hard to be positive that the fight will happen this May.

80% for me this won't materialize. (hope I am wrong though).

You don't hear Haymon's name much but I remember from the Pavlik/Williams negotiations he and Arum would rather kill each other than do business together. Arum stayed out of negotiations and left them to Tod because of this. They tried a mediator, HBO's Greenburg tried to negotiate and now direct talks between the two fighters. What is left? A court order? If they failed this time, chances of this fight happening are pretty much over. Only thing that MIGHT change it is May's june 1 date with destiny. He'll have some time to reflect on what got him to that point and come out a better person for it. I hope so.

Arum is probably feeling threatened. And with good reason.

Haymon used to have HBO at the tip of his finger for the past few years.

Thanks man. I might have expected this would never happen though in my mind I thought Arum would ruin it, I should have known that Mayweather would pull yet another demand out of his ass. Think it's safe to say by now that whoever expects Mayweather to make this fight should forget it completely. The only way this fight happens is if one fighter loses and agrees to all demands. Hell, even then Mayweather would come up with nonsense to screw it up.

I love how people keep turning this back on Arum. The guy is a master. He doesn't give one **** if you talk about him. Now that Pac is a politician he needs to shield Pac form as much negativity as possible. Very few of us here appreciate how well he does that. It is part of the game of boxing that largely goes unnoticed.
