Not many threads on here about Maidana vs Alexander fight. Even searched videos on youtube not many new videos showing their training or any public media interviews. Their fight is only about 4 weeks away. Also same for the Berto vs Ortiz rematch is just around the corner. Any news guys? Cheers!
wait til february then the hype will come. im more excited to see Broner Vs. Perez personally. im also excited to see ortiz vs berto and even more excited that Russell Jrs on the undercard.
Its hard to get up for an Alexander fight following recent matches involving him. I just hope for a fair winner either way
Can't wait for this fight, will be great. I'm expecting an Alexander win. Hopefully by a KO. I think this fight is at welterweight so should be interesting how they both feel and perform at this weight.
I just hope this year 2012 will be a good year for boxing, so how do you see the Lopez vs Salido rematch? Last time a heard that Lopez had few issues outside and we shall see a 100% focused Lopez coming into this fight. We just wait and see..
I think he will be a bit more motivated to win in front of a home crowd, it would be interesting to know who GBP are backing in this fight. Alexander should be too sharp for maidana who judging from the morales fight hasn't got much left at too level.
Hopefully not another Matthysse fight, where it was a close fight, he got to show the public that he is for real. Fighting a beast in Maidana will prove that he can take a fight with a slugger.
maidanas gonna make devon quit. had high hopes for alexander but bitterly disappointed in his last few performances, just doesnt look like he wants it anymore.
With Pacquiao contunuing to avoid Mayweather (It looks like he will chose to fight Cotto instead) he winner of Maidana vs Alexander has a good shot of being Mayweather's May 5th opoent. The fight is at 147, both are not with Top Rank. Maidana is with Golden Boy, I think Alexander is with Don King. Both have better resumes than Alvarez who is Mayweather's most likely oppoent.
I agree, this fight should be talked about more. I think Alexander will bank some rounds early on jabbing and movement, but Maidana is going to find that timing with his right hand as Alexander pulls back with his head exposed (especially since he doesn't punch at shoulder level often), just as he did against Khan. The effects will probably be more devastating since Devon is southpaw. Alexander is tough and if he brings his absolute best I think he can last 12 (and maybe get his gift), but with Maidana's subtle but fruitful technical improvements, I see him stalking and walking down Alexander with a good chance of making him quit.
Since Maidana lost to Khan and scraped past Morales and Alexander robbed Mathysse and Kotelnik (and lost to bradley) the hype from both fighters has dulled
