Sky were raving about him after that win, but while I think McDermott was a decent opponent at this stage, we cannot possibly learn much about Price in 72 seconds of action. What people saw in those 72 seconds that made them think a star is born I don't know. Yeah he has power, but I agree that fight was not a good gauge of how good he could be. A fight against Fury would be one I could get excited about.
Yes, knocked down 3 times in 73 seconds. Easy win. Surprise no one has mentioned the shape John was in, considering how he was telling everyone how hard he has trained he looked in awful shape to me
As opposed to Sprott, who lost to Tye Fields, Audley and Pulev but is supposed to represent a test for David Price? Aye, right.
He was hurt, but still got up the first 2 knockdowns. The third knockdown he stayed on his knee till the 9 count and got up for the 10 count but ref was right to call it off. He was only going down again.
Fury and Price would be good in one more fight, maybe if they could get both of them on channel 5 then next time they face off, im sure a lot of people would watch
I'm not saying he does. The sprott - audley was a side track from the main issue, i dislike audley also, and got distracted. I think the only domestic fighter to give price problems is chisora - a motivated pressure fighter who can take a dig, and of late someone who has done what fat john couldn't be bothered to do - get in ****ing shape.
I like both fighters. But Id pick Price by stoppage. Although its hard to gauge how good Price is with his fights being so short! I just see too many holes in Tysons defense too see him acheiving anything at world level unless its for a micky mouse title, and Price is always in fantastic shape and throws big straight shots that would pepper Tysons chin all nights IMO
Maloney said he'll fight again in March & then Fury in May but if they can agree with Fury quickly then they'll fight in March.
a bit of a slow starter for me, fell short against the top heavyweight amateurs as well especially against Solis and Cammarelle.
