ya I get what you're saying though. I hope Floyd doesn't let this linger on too long and just accept it

Burden? Nah....its just not the most logical position from a profits stand point. For Pac to give up the lions share AND bend over and take it up the ass by letting Floyd pick the date and venue which means Pac makes even less was a "no go" for the Pac Man. It's just too much for a man's pride to take... Floyd knew that... We will see this fight in late 2012... Hopefully.

Floyd ducked. Never wanted the fight and used some Manny bull**** rhetoric that no one took seriously as a way out. I hope no one buys his next fight....and I've defended him many times.

    Think about it this way:

If you're already making somewhere between 20 and 40 mil PER FIGHT, you could take two routes :

One, taking a one-time, high-risk shot at more money, and in the process putting your future profitability and legacy in jeopardy. Not to mention losing a good chunk of that one-time bonanza to the tax man and all the massive promotional entities involved.

    OR

Two, continue making safe, but smart defenses of your title, pocketing your millions fight after fight, continuing to pad your resume and name brand, and getting hit with fewer taxes.

When you look at it this way, is it any shock really that these two guys don't seem interested in fighting one another, and have been playing this cat and mouse game for over two years now?

Floyd knows what he's doing..... I think he is confident and ready for Pac but wants to make as much paper as possible. MGM and May 5 is a winning combo but not for a fight with Pac. Floyd calls himself money.......so he knows the deal... The promotion, venue and date will all be aligned for maximizing the money he will pocket. This fight will happen late 2012

This is why I think Pacquiao is happy to sign the fight whereas Mayweather isn't. Pacquiao has lost before and he knows that if he loses again, he can bounce back and still be a huge name in the sport. I don't think Mayweather is confident that without his '0' on the end of his record he can still be a big draw.

A lot of Mayweather's PPV numbers come from fans wanting to see him lose. He knows that too and he plays up to it. If Mayweather loses, what is going to draw fans in, apart from those who want to see him win? I'd say that 70% pay to see Mayweather win and 30% pay to see him lose, so he'd certainly lose a lot of his marketability if he lost to Pacquiao.

Pacquiao knows he's a legend in his home country and even if he loses, he's still going to be a draw. Mayweather doesn't have that same confidence, I don't think.

Pac doesn't want the fight either and this idiot email and response have shifted all the blame to Mayweather.

I think Pacquiao has every bit as much on the line from a public appeal standpoint as Floyd does. Let's be honest, the only reason he is where he is in the political landscape stems from his boxing accomplishments. If he were to lose, especially to someone as disliked as Mayweather, it could seriously tarnish his "hero" reputation and bids for future political moves.

Who cares if Mayweather picked the date and venue if they are both good picks that's what I don't understand. May 5th and MGM Grand are both PROVEN money makers, everything else is speculation and estimations.

You are also assuming what you think Floyd knew. You don't know if Mayweather thought those things would be attractive to lure Pac in for a fight knowing they are both a premium date and premium venue.

Reguardless of purse split or date/venue I don't see how these things over power making the fight. I mean they are both going to make more money fighting each other then anything else so how does risking not making the fight and making no money out of it trump the extra money they think they could get out of it by asking for a higher purse split or bigger stadium.
