Kessler ducked him. And Froch is still a top 5 fighter. Either of those should be good enough for Ward. Ward is just a little *****.

first off, Dirrel don't want the fight right now. He has said as much in his OTR interview.

I don't know what his contract with Showtime looks like, but it's likely a fight by fight contract, and if this is something Showtime is trying to promote, a Dirrel/Bute fight, it's gonna take a lot more than a one fight deal to get Dirrel to abandon his plans for his career.:deal

He was, or maybe he wasn't. Only thing we know for sure is that Dirrell was whooping AA's ass very bad.

    Dirrell is so ****ing underrated.

Who has Dirrel fought that has the rare combination of speed and power that Bute is. Also, Bute fights at angles, similarly to Dirrel, and nothing like ABraham who Dirrel was able to discourage with his straight shots.

It's no f/n tossup......it's a fight that the whole world could predict. Either a UD in which Dirrell stays 8 ft away from Bute for 12 rounds and loses a 120-108 decision in which the crowd boos him for his next 10 fights, or one where he venture within range and is starched.

My pick is Bute by KO within 4 rounds.:deal

It's voluntary defense so who cares.
If it was ranked the it should've been keept as a great mandatory instead of Adonis Stevenson-Jesus Gonzales who are gonna fight for IBF's Number 2 Spot or Donovan George vs. Librado Andrade IBF's Number 1 Spot and mandatory.
Depending on circumstances any winner of those 2 fights could become mandatory. Like Brinkley become after the Bika fight didn't happend, while previously beat Curtis Stevens for #2 spot.

No, he aint. Everyone agrees he has talent like hell. But he needs to sort himself out. After all his Super 6 related stunts I would be surprised if he shows himself able to manage his own career. He needs to sign up with someone like Arum who can call the shots for him.

It looks like Ward is ducking Bute... Like it said, it would be best for the SMW if Froch won the S6

Bute-Magee was relatively low risk, and low reward given how the S6 was going full tilt at the time. WTF are you talking about?!?

Bute needs any kind of risk, HIGH reward. Even Hopkins brings this kind of prestige, just a higher risk / different situation.

Dirrell only brings recognition from the hardcore fans.
