Bro I ALWAYS gave Pac credit for fighting cotto, no matter the catchweight...and like I said before, Manny steward did an interview talking about catchweights and I was able to understand exactly what a catchweight was...U obviously dont know what a catchweight is...a catchweight is designed for a smaller person to fight a bigger person and a weight they both can make...without the catchweight the fight would be unfair, cuz the smaller guy would be too small and the larger guy would be too big...U couldnt even reply to my comment above, because u know Im right...it would be dumb as HELL For Floyd to come in the ring weighing 147 against a guy who's coming in the ring weighing 170...Floyd would be like, "Holy ****, Im trapped in a cage with a bear"...Learn about the game of boxig bro....learn about the game of boxing.
You all are talking as if this fight were going to happen :rofl Sergio fights in mid March. He won't have much time to prepare for Floyd for May 5. Sergio knows he can't cut that much weight in just a month and half and get prepared for what could be his biggest fight of his life. So no, this fight is not happening, atleast not in May 5 with such a short period of time.
I would believe that, if he himself hadnt said that he could...last yr when he was calling everyone out at that weight, everyone was cosigning it, and now that Floyd's gonna step up potentially, its a problem...well 50' is the only way they can fight, and I could care less what weight...I just wanna see them in the ring together...all this complaining about the weight is silly...I mean MARVILLA in the ring with MAYWEATHER...Thats AWESOME if it happens...if its not at 150 then the fight just wont happen...so u want to see it or u dont?...Yea okay..Lie and say u dont wanna see it..LOL
Ya, I mean, I have basically no problem with "catch weights" per se. I just don't feel they should be used to contest divisional titles (as in fighting at 157lbs for a Middleweight title, etc.) and if they are used to bring a fighter lower than he is comfortable fighting at, it negates or severely devalues the victory. There's nothing glorious about fighting a "bigger man" at a weight he can't perform at.
u can say the same for pac fans. they have no problem with pacs catcweight victories but when floyd considers one hes a coward
154 sounds most fair; Floyd goes up a weight and Martinez goes down a weight. 150 is too much and unfair for Martinez.
Agreed, and Pac's catchweights werent even that bad IMO. Cotto had to drop 1 pound, DLH agreed to meet in a division between him and Pac (at WW), and I think Margarito was 150, but Margarito spent most of his career at 147 anyway. Martinez is a *Healthy* 160 pounder... He has fought a lot at 154 so I think i'd give Floyd 100% credit if it takes place at 154. 150... Maybe 60% credit? martinez is pretty soild, but perhaps he boil down., and do decent.
Floyd fought Oscar @ 154 which Floyd weighed in 150, bigger body than Pac, he should fight Sergio at the full 154. Pacquiao barely even makes 147.
Sergio is way overrated, I dont expect him to beat Floyd but with his size and southpaw style he could catch FLoyd with something.
