I only know this will be a great match-up.

Let's see first Donaire's fight at 122 against Vasquez. I am skeptic of how he can bring his power above 118, though he is a natural talent.

This fight excites me just as much as Pac v Mayweather to be honest. Any 2 greats coming together for that matter. If this fight happens in 2012 I for one will be thrilled.

If Donaire wants to be undisputed champion at 122 he has one real problem. There is already a ruler in that division Guillermo Rigondeaux. Donaire said last week that Rigo needed to fight him and use his name to get back on HBO because he messed up against Cordoba. Rigo was a novice pro (6-0) when he fought former champion Cordoba (37-2) in front of 60k spectators and he won the interim world title. Even if he didnt impress that night he certainly impressed against undefeated Ramos by knocking him out in the 6th. Rigo scared the living day lights out of Ramos in the first round and Ramos refused to engage for the rest of the fight. El Chacal stalked him with loaded 'Cuban Missiles' in either hand and when he finally pulled the trigger he knocked Ramos out. Ramos was counted out and remain on the canvas for a long time after the fight was ended. Donaire will suffer the same faith as Ramos only a lot quicker because Donaire will be to eager to get the job done and he will walk into Rigondeaux mine field. Rigo by KO round 4

Excellent comment! The people that thought that Rigo looked bad against Cordoba don't know jack about boxing. Rigo gave him a boxing lesson in all aspects and with just 6 pro fights. He would had KO'd him too if he wanted as he let him recuperate after that vicious stomach punch.

Don~aire, ( this is how I call him, he is just Air ) has talked bad about Rigo and now he must back that talk inside a boxing Ring. Rigo is the best Champion at 122lbs and Donaire will have to deal with him if he ever plans to overtake the 122lbs division.

I agree with you, an aggressive fighter like Don~aire will get KO'd against the living legend Rigondeaux. He will dodge his punches, time him and hit him with one of his specialties body shots, goodnight ñoñito!

I think on paper it looks like Donaire hands down but in reality i think it might be a bit different.

Rigo looks terrible when you see him in training (can barely do pad work or anything) yet when he gets in the ring he often looks great.

At this stage ill favour Donaire but only as long as it isnt the Donaire of the Narvaez fight.

Both have great skills and power but I think Nonaire would look for a fight with his higher work rate and rigondeaux would go on survive/safe mode. Nonaire by decision, ko if he gets lucky.

I have Donaire for now. More proven then Rigo and Ramos is no Nonito.
Rigo could very well win a decision but i have to favor Nonito.

Rigondeaux ALL DAY , the better the oponent the better Rigo looks . I expect a KO in the 5th or before , Rigo will expose Nonito big time , but Arum won't allow that fight this year , maybe next year or the next ¿ who knows ? , what's important is that Rigo should keep busy and keep developing his new pro style . Peace .

Donaire has more speed, more punches, similar to a prime Roy Jones Jr while Rigondeux is more like a prime James Toney or Mayweather.

Rigondeux has much better defense and has perfect technical skills. The problem is he's too passive and he waits on his opponent. Against Donaire this style wont work because Donaire is as technically skilled as he is and wont make mistakes.

So Rigondeux in other to win is going to have to come out aggressive and take the fight to Donaire and try to use his size and strength to bully Donaire and I just can't see Rigondeux changing his style enough to beat Donaire.

But we know Donaire can and will change his style to beat Rigondeux.

He should have been fighting 6 to 8 times a year. If he had fought 8 times a year from 2009 he would have around 16-20 fights. The problem with Rigondeux is he wants to fight a guy like Donaire but he appears lazy and doesn't fight often enough so people know who the hell he is nor has he beaten anyone anyone respects.
