Where did Lennox Lewis acquire his street-fighting skills?

    From what we know Lennox grew up in a sheltered environment with a loving mother. He went to college and is a far cry from the ghetto life-style, drug peddling and gang war stereotype many boxers seem to identify themselves with.

    One thing I always wondered: Although he doesn't portray the street-fight lifestyle Lennox very much could perform it whenever the challenge was brought to him:

    When Rahman tried to mind**** him in the studio Lennox had no problem fighting it out with him. Same with Tyson when Iron Mike wanted a piece of Lennox' leg. Same with Dr. Klitschko when Vitali thought he could brawl toe-to-toe with an ATG heavyweight without getting punished for it.

    Is the 'streetbrawling' skill a genetic gift? Is one born with it? Or is it learned? Can you learn it on the streets or only inside the ring? Or both?

    He lived a tough life.

    He struggled to settle in with his classmates, so he proceeded to punch through a window. The headteacher was more impressed than angry due to his power, so he told Lennox to do something worthwhile with his strength ie. Boxing

    You would think a typical stereotype college kid like Lennox would be intimidated by a street thug like Bowe. But he wasn't. He stared right into Bowe's face and told him he'd knock him out. Bowe never had the balls to face him in the ring.

    Lewis was real calm Rahman was the only guy to seem to get in his head and he ended up paying for it.

    Rahman was a tough dude. Gang cultured up-bringing.

    To assume Lennox was soft because he enjoyed a decent up-brininging is stupid. Having a harder life doesn't make you automatically tougher than someone else, Lennox and MAB are good examples of this.

    They had fought eachother in the amateurs..Lewis won...

    But yeah Riddick didnt seem to keen to fight him in the pros.
