The obvious answer: Oscar pulls in millions, Martinez does not. Floyd had a lot to gain so he gives in negoations and let Oscar have advantages, including small ring size, and glove. Martinez doesn't bring in millions so why should FLoyd give him advantages? Make his life tougher on purpose? for what?

The fact of the matter is, Floyd has on numerous times bashed Pac for fighting at catchweights. Now I personally dont think Sergio should be fighting ANY WW, but if Floyd's going to fight him, let it be at 154 after all the trash he's talked about catchweights.

I know right? I hate when a fighter has done something before, then acts like doing it again would be BLASPHEMY!!!

Example: Pacquiao has 3 fights on "CINCO DE MAYO" Weekend (Oscar,JMM & Hatton) But fighting Floyd on "CINCO DE MAYO" weekend is out of the Question....:-(

    Translation:

You can become 'king of catchweights' as long as you bring enough money on the table :-(

    Beggars can't be choosers

dlh was a top draw back then, and floyd fought him on his preference, now its floyd's turn as the top draw

So that means so-called 'bullsh*t catchweights' are now excusable?

Why can't people answer my question now. C'mon let's talk about this.
This one's a catchweight attempt. Floyd brings the money - that's good
but does that justify the catchweight now?

wait is floyd pursuing a fight with Martinez?? If Martinez have no complains why do you? Martinez can make 150, at least is not 147.

So catchweights are ok as long the other end doesn't complain?
Remember by term 'not complaining', it doesn't mean the fighter will have easy time making the weight, just not complaining cause as what the other poster has said 'a beggar can't choose'

So 'not complaining', is the catchweight tolerable now?

Mayweather was replying to a comment made by a reporter about Martinez claiming he challenged him and said he would come down to 150 to fight him. Mayweather never demanded that Martinez come down to 150 to fight him all he did was repeat what the reporter stated and said absolutely.

So it's ok to do a 'Catchweight' as long the other end is the one asking for it but not ok you're the one asking?

Fighting Martinez at 150 is a lose lose situation.

Even if Martinez was 100% healthy at the weight, if Floyd won, he would get no credit and the whole "Martinez was drained" comments would come up.

If he were to fight Martinez, it should be 154+. And if he were to take that fight and win, his all time ranking would rise (irrespective of Martinez not being an ATG, it's all about the risk).

But to answer to TS, the only reason it's getting mentioned, is cause Martinez said so himself.
