it all seems like posturing. Can anyone tell me did Pacquiao actually agree to a lesser purse? Is there a record of this. Id find it hard to believe that he did agree to this and then change his mind on it?

Seems to be the right equation but I'm still hopeful this fight will be made. There's too much money and Floyd actually called PAC... I think he's setting the stage for this one to happen... just not may 5th.

I don't believe that was ever Floyd's intentions. Floyd/Canelo sounds like Cinco De Mayo smash! PAC/Floyd is a ****ing block buster on any day... they don't need a special Mexican holiday to help boost this one... it could be on ****ing Presidents day and the **** would sell.

:patsch Try being specific or more concise before berating someone's reading skills *******.

And ADD that part about the Floyd vs. Ortiz fight not counting BEFORE you post numbnuts. Adding that caveat in your orignal post CHANGES the whole thing, got that ****.:patsch

Besides, purse parity doesn't work the way YOU described. ****in noob.

And since you like to harp on reading skills, I said Pac performed better vs. Shane then Floyd did. And you proceed to ask about Pac vs JMM?

He didn't just agree... He offered to take the smaller share if that meant it would get the fight done. But then Floyd negotiated by himself securing the date and venue trying to play it off like he did it all for PAC.

He knew PAC wasn't going to go for that and be made to look like Floyd is telling him what to do, when to do it and ALSO take the smaller purse.:rofl Some cats are gullible... and that's me putting it nicely. I'm not one of those dudes.

Is there a link of this or a source. Im not Mannys and Arums biggest fan at the minute but i still have difficulty believing that Manny would agree on something like that and then change his mind.

I won't even get into your non fact based assertion that "both deserve 50/50. The fact is, Mayweather's purse is already covered. All Arum has to do is match it. Why won't he? Also, even taking 50/50 off of the table by giving it to Pac, Arum has thrown up two more increasingly arbitrary roadblocks in the date and venue.

Your second paragraph is just not genuine. Pac had already said he was ready to go with JMM on May 5th and the MGM Grand is not "a" venue it is "The Venue" when it comes to Boxing. So a comeback date was established.

Cinco De Mayo is just a great day for a Boxing event against ANY opponent for ANY named fighter. The Mexican American community are the defacto standard bearers for US Boxing. This was the best date period offering great upside with or without Pac. Pac even agreed, by proxy, by announcing fighting on the same date.

What is there to negotiate? All the same stuff that was on the table before is on the table now, but now Pac has LESS leverage. Pac has caved into most of it and waffled on the money. It is starting to become clear he just doesn't want this fight.

Fights happen due to call outs and the resulting fan pressure. I see Pac fans making a 101 excuses as why NOT to fight.

I've said this for a while. Those two care more about their egos than anything. They both only wants things on their own terms and neither will negotiate in good faith.

Doesn't look good if he did though. With the whole we'll take any blood test he wants in 2009 to then turn around and say he's not the commision he doesn't make the rules!( What commision ordered catchweights for Cotto and Margo?)

If he wasn't really willing to take the smaller purse the he shouldn't have said that he would. PR or not because it will be held against him when the fight doesnt happen.

What is he going to say when the fight falls through and his reason for this is that Floyd asked for a bigger slice of the purse that he already agreed to?

He'll have to admit he was lying. Man i don't know what happened to Pac when his ego inflated but seriously the guy was renowned for his warrior spirit. I loved his fights with Morales, Barrera and Marquez and unfortunetly he'll be remembered for being Bob Arum's *****.

Mayweather is a knob but thats universally accepted. Pac's rep has gone down the toilet over last couple of years.

Sure. Tons of them. If you google "I will take less to make the fight" you get a million hits. Here is a video from Elie Sekback a huge Pac fan:

Here is an article from PI:

Why is it wrong for FMJ to ask for the very thing that Pac went into the press saying he was willing to do to make the fight?

If it is a PR battle pac's losing big time. The Mayweathers aren't exactly the smartest guys in the world. In fact i laugh at their spupidity regularly. losing a pr battle to a family of crackheads and lunatics isn't a good look.

I see the math lesson wasn't enough. You also need a reading comprehension and accounting lesson too.

First off, here's the man himself, Arum:

    Quote 1

    Quote 2

Now lame, why do you think Arum consistently refers to GATE revenue (ie - ticket sales). In what accounting or econ book do you know of that someone would quote 'GATE REVENUE' with the intent of including 'capital costs', without SPECIFICALLY calling that out.

Do you believe all the other 'Gate Revenue' figures you've ever heard as a boxing fan were minus 'cost for overhead'? Pass that dutch, lame.

Better yet, can you post ANYTHING that states Arum has incorporated the cost of the stadium into his 'gate revenue' claims. Claims which, BTW, you yourself believe are inflated by 30M.

It's obvious you recoginze how bullsh!t your point is, because you IMMEDIATELY start conflating 'PROFIT' (money made AFTER all expenses are addressed, like constructing a stadium) with 'REVENUE' (total volume of money coming in).

    Stop playing yourself.

    Pimp harder, square. :verysad

For the last couple of years, they've lost the PR battle. Now it looks like they will win the war.

I guess that "vacation" worked out pretty well for them.

What a contribution. Thanks for the information.

this idiot sort of sums up my point. Mayweather has always had his critics, Pacquiaos have only started when he started looking like he wanted no part of Floyd.
