Winning an alphabet title does not make you a "World Champ". And no, just winning any old "title" is not automatically better than not having won one - especially if you fought when they didn't exist.

Well firstly, you need to take your own advice about learning to read whats been written because I only disputed Geale at middleweight. :-( Secondly the fact that you state in your words 'I dont care which fighter from 1927 fought for the commonwealth titile 10 times and won the aussie title 9 times...a world champion is a world champion' shows you dont know how to rate a fighter at all. Those little trinkets Green, Mundine and Geale have or had arent worth much if they fought sub par competition. Tell me, is Mundine, Green or Geale worthy of the international boxing hall of fame ? Darcy is there and fought some great opponents so that imo is why he is greater in the middleweight division.
No Mundine,No Green and No Geale are not worthy of being HOF ..ATM.. imo..If Mundine wins a light middle title,he becomes the 1st boxer to win the title in decending order..so then id say he is worthy. If Green fights on,wins another Cruiser title,with a couple defences against ranked guys..id say he might be worthy then. AND as for Geale,he is not at the end of his career..if he fights the names he talks of,beats them,unifys etc etc..why wont he be a better middle then darcy?
Youre asking who is the greatest, not who could be the greatest are you not? Of course Geale has the opportunity to become the best middleweight Australia has produced. My gripe was with your blatent disregard for many of our old timers simply because they never won one of those world title trinkets that are in abundence in todays fight game. Many of our old timers fought and beat much better oppostion and deserve to be mentioned when these topics arise.
There is a simple difference you have not yet realised..I menshion 3 of our current fighters..along with jeff harding( who imo is our greats light heavy)..mundine,green,geale..all multiple world champs...I completely understand the bogus titles that are around today and those that were not in the hay day...BUT .. Mundine - WBA Green - WBC Geale - IBF all these titles were back in the days...they are the big 3,not just "one of those trinkets" ..that is why I menshioned them 3..Sure i could of said something like Soliman or Taylor (wbf).. or waters or thornberry..the list goes on and on of aussies who have won wbf,ibo etc titles.the threee I menshion have won legit organisation titles..that is the difference..but I do get what your saying.
