PBF fights winner of Berto/Ortiz 2!!! No doubt

In a perfect world it would be a viable opponent. But, we cannot forget this is business and GBP would never sacrifice Canelo(their young cash cow) so soon.

 

If he loses to Ortiz his career is done. No one's going to buy tickets to see him fight, they aren't now are they?, and competitively if he loses to Ortiz he's not top-tier caliber - a double-edged death knell. He might be a good "opponent" but as far as drawing on his own name? Negative. He's like Dawson in that Dawson without a title belt is a completely worthless fighter because he brings nothing to the table otherwise. Berto had all these chances on HBO, far more than most other boxers coming up would get, and as far as a fanbase that would pay to watch the man fight it's resulted in: nothing, mostly down to the matchmaking.

just saying...even if his career is basically done after his next fight...hes still made enough to be set....provided he isnt completely stupid...al made him alot of money for nothing really....al gets sweet deals for his guys

 

Don't forget that Berto just got wih Victor Conte before the Zaveck fight and he looked physically better than ever. He still doesn't know how to pace himself and wastes too much energy, but now at least he has more energy to waste

 

I don't think it will be canelo. Gbp don't need to have him lose just yet.

It's the best fight that can be made for him at WW outside Pac-Mayweather. If he fights Berto it will be two Al Haymon fighters, I think a first, so that might not be realistic. Ortiz rematch definately will be easy to make and easy to hype with the controversy of the first fight

 

I was picking Berto at first but i honestly think Ortiz a better fighter. He gets better each fight and will be to good for Berto. Berto is going to be shocked when he realizes hes in there with a beast. Ortiz by tko....

 

1. Canelo has a decent fanbase
2. Cinco De Mayo
3. Two undefeated fighters. Someone's O has got to go. Fans love to see this.
4. With about 40 wins already, he's experienced enough to be in a big fight. If he wins he's the new elite. If he loses he still goes on to be top 2 at 154

 

Im rooting for bertO simply because ortiz is a tosser and has allready lost to mayweather he was that easy floyd began unleashing combos!.....
