If Cotto elects to fight Pacquiao on June 9th; Would that mean he ducked Mayweather?

I would like to see Cotto fight FMJ at this point. If Cotto ens up fighting
Pacquiao I will not hold it against Cotto.

I would be more inclined to believe FMJ somehow avoided signing a fight with Cotto instead. Why has Cotto not renewed his contract with top rank? Cotto obviously understands how hard it will be to sign a fight with FMJ or any other fighter for that matter who is not top rank.

BTW the only fighter I remember being offered by top rank and clearly ducked by FMJ was Antonio Margarito.

I doubt it, but that would be awesome. I go to every boxing event at MSG... Looking forward to Martinez vs Macklin!

You got to ask yourself this question; who besides Pacquiao is the most lucrative matchup for FMJ? Cotto is a free agent so there is no reason why FMJ should not be calling Cotto out if the Pac fight does not happen.
The FMJ-Cotto fight makes sense, and if it does not happen than maybe Floyd is the one not pushing for it.

That's an interesting way of looking at it.

Miguel is a free agent so whatever decision he makes will all be on him.. Can't blame the Bobfather this time.

Yep you cant blame the Bob father unless he offers more money to Cotto for a Pac fight. But at the end of the day, Cotto is a free agent and not
    contractualy obligated to fight anybody.

I hope ur right, but I doubt it. I've seen their first fight like five times AND I was live at MSG for the Margarito II and I see absolutely no reason to believe Miguel can beat Pacquiao.

I don't think so, because he has unfinished business with Pac. So it shouldn't be looked at as a duck.

It should be if these people who cite "ducked so-and-so" when talking about fighters wanted to be consistent.

Bottom line: every world class boxer has ducked TONS of people by the definition of the jokes here on ESB.
