Probem with Nay-Sayers theory is that once the last ATG retires from a division its impossible to become one after.
Suppose its only a matter of time before we wont have anymore ATGs.

(ps you are a ****ing idiot)

Crediting Holmes with a fossil parkinson suffering Ali, i guess Lebedev is a ATG now for knockingout RJJ?

You could argue he is 3-0, imo 2-1 up but that doesnt make him a atg just a hof that was a stylistic nightmare for past prime ali.
I mean nobody considers douglas an atg despite him beating prime tyson.

Just about the same time the level of competition fell off.

I give him credit for surviving against Peter & showing he had guts but 2 of his best wins, Iggy & Byrd, were clearly against favourable styles to his own. Feasting on CWs doesnt add to his legacy either imo.

He's been matched very carefully & anyone with the potential to give him problems (Sanders rematch, Arreola & Chisora) have ended up fighting big brother.

Hasim Rahman does indeed have a better resume than Wlad and Vitali. He beat Lennox Lewis and Corrie Sanders. Lennox destroyed Vitali, and Corrie destroyed Wlad.

If Wlad fought a prime Hasim Rahman, and Vitali didn't retire to duck Rahman, I don't have any doubts as to what the outcomes would have been.

I like to envision ATG-status like a virus. You have to step in the ring with another boxer who already is infected, or else you will never get it. Sometimes, like in the 70's, it becomes epidemic and everyone gets it.

Is this somehow related to the condition where fighters double in speed, power and skills for every 10 years they are retired?

I think this version of wlad is much better and has a safer style, he wouldnt gass out vs brewster and purity.
Im not saying sanders couldnt beat him but I feel he would do better.
I honestly cant see him lose to any of the guys you mention, I think at best they have a punchers chance but he is so safe in his approach that he doesnt get tagged, haye could have done it but it wasnt enough.
Sadly the best the current division has to offer is cruiserweights, I wouldnt mind wlad vs arreola, helenius or povetkin later this year.

Yep, and Joe Frazier would have walked Wladimir Klitschko down. If he ever was able to get that left hook above Wlads beltline, that is :good

Will happen to the klitschko's as well, probably since the next era might be just the same as now when it comes to weakness just without the klits.
    Bums trading belts.

:patsch i forgat how the chin improved 2 fold every 10 years as well.
Obviously Joe would have been bulletproof for nowadays standards.

Seeing as how shitty boxing obviously is nowadays compared to back then youd wonder why people still watch boxing at all.
