Good post SJS,especially with some of the **** that's been written last few days.Bernard is one of the few fighters in the current era who could have coped with the game when it was much harder up till the 70's.
Half of these people who call him a ***** couldn't do six hours in the garage,never mind six years.When they've done some proper porridge(that doesn't mean an hour or two in the copshop for being drunk and pissing in the street) let them come back and see what they say about Bernard.They'd look at him in a whole new light,even if he has pulled a few shitty strokes during fights.He's learned to survive and knows that you do what you need to to come back and fight another day.

 

You need to give respect to get respect & a lot of the time that **** shows zero respect.... Hopkins being 1 of the top fighters of his era doesn`t mean he is above anyone else outside the ring.

I ****ing love Bernard, but I can see the exaggeration he brings when in the ring. I view it as smart but I won't knock those who believe its unsporting

 

whatever, he gets a pass for ridiculous ****. His middleweight reign for the most part was a ****ing joke, he quit on multiple occasions, is a cheater, and worst of all robs his fans more than once.

Where was Hopkins when Roy was a top fighter? How about bitching out of a Toney fight? Or feasting on complete scrubs to "break" Monzon's record.

You guys ***** and moan about fighters and give this ****er props for a reign over the likes of Joe Lipsey, Morrade Haakar, and Allen....THRICE, and he quit in one of those fights. And then you blow up Echols (yeah, the same Echols who has lost to ****ING EVERYONE) to be this monster.

 

Bernard Hopkins is a racist, as I've said before, saying 'I'll never lose to a white boy' to a white fighter in Calzaghe is unforgivable. Imagine a white fighter telling Bernard 'I'll never lose to a black man', could you imagine? Disgraceful to say the least. I can never respect an individual like that, I hope that answers the OP's questions.

I have the utmost respect for Hard Nard. I don't like his fights always, but ****in A !, dudes an old man winning in a young mans sport. I wish he'd say **** it and rematch Dawson, but that probably won't happen. I get the feeling if it was on the other foot, he would have. I get the feeling he'll 'politick' more before retiring. But the old man deserves respect.

 

I know he was just trying to hype up the fight but what he said prior to the calzaghe fight pissed off some people especially white folks:deal
