What you'll find is that the guys who preferred the PRIDE era to the past or current UFC era are the ones who hold the hate , and i used the word preferred very loosely indeed , compared to some of them who post on here MMA may as well pack up and go home because its Golden Age died with PRIDE

Myself , i have always leaned towards the UFC but i was an MMA fan before the UFC went mainstream and once was an avid PRIDE fan until the new UFC model came along which i just prefferred for my own reasons , it was at that point it dawned on me that the evolution of the sport as a clean and structured sport laid with the UFC not PRIDE

But i must say , i do like the arguments / debates as petty as they may be :yep , maybe thats just because im an opinionated argumentative *******

    Stop posting !:good

Honestly man you are a joke of a person....you take it very ****in personnal that someone QUOTE a TV show and you think he should go to concelling and get fired for it. On top of that you brain can't seem to be able to understand that not all Pride fight were fixed and even if the vast majority were not, **** it, we should all judge Pride for the fixed fight...

Man what a ****in joke... !

Yeah, I know about the corruption in PRIDE, dont condone it one bit. But certain peoples double standards, and the amount they go on about it, when someone even mentions PRIDE is really pissing me off.

Im not going to tell people to Google Anthony Fertitta when they mention PRIDE's Yakuza ties again...honest :p

And you are right, just enjoy the fights

It doesn't matter if all fights were fixed, the bad apples you spoke of determined the outcome of the fight.. A poster like you will say anything. I had a good sleep while 2 pages filled up of you mother ****ers calling each other out for a roster of fixed fights.

There is only one work that I'm almost certain of, and that Stoo is quite familiar of.. We'll cross that bridge if we get there, but until we have a few to talk about in The UFC.. Don't waste our time with this back and forth.

Pride and WWE are often compared to each other, and the promotions you listed.

You're a good lad, but will also say anything. The responses that follow are simply weak, and a lot of you operate on a low level, dragging a few of us into the gutter talking about the past.. Because you run into a brick wall talking about the past.

Fixed :good At least I guess you wern't stupid enough to say that all Pride fight were fixed...

Did you say something of what the wall of text just full of nothingness ?

Like I said to Haggis, it doesn't matter what idiot like yourself think/say and while I can at least be objective and agree with you that some of the Pride fight were fixed, and the vast majority wern't fixed fight, it doesn't change the FACT that most of real MMA fan will respect what Pride did, enjoy rewatching the event and give props when props is due !

And BTW, if you don't want to waste your time, don't read it, I'm not forcing you too...and I'm especially not asking a ****** like yourself to answer anything I posted... now just **** off !:good

A brick wall with comments like this

All of these promotions, including Pride and WWE are often compared to each other, and because sooner or later, yes, you're right.. Someone mentions Pride, and tosses out jabs like the one above.

The muck that the OP speaks of come about because you drag some of us into the gutter with comments like this about The UFC.

I honestly think that is a fair comment in terms of production and promotion. :huh

It's toned down, with no gimmicks and the fights arent ''worked'', but it's pretty undeniable that in certain aspects Zuffa borrowed from Vince and they were very clever in doing so

I dont think it's fair to comment about PRIDE doing the same thing in Japan

There you go, and where some of you draw the line in the sand..

You don't know what I think about Pride, I don't get a chance to tell you because these discussions never go that far.

Pride Decade, Fedor's career, Best of Pride recorded every other ****ing day.. You're full of bull****.

I don't see what this argument is about, besides semantics. Both of you agree that PRIDE had some fixed fights, some referee-related corruption, etc. One of you believes that enough of this occurred to put PRIDE on the "sports entertainment" side of the line, while the other doesn't.

Since this seems to depend on your own personal idea of how far a sport can go before it becomes "sports entertainment", how is this going to be settled?
