If Floyd fights Cotto in May, does all the "him ducking Cotto" BS disappear?

I don't think Mayweather ever avoided Cotto. He wanted a break from the sport (which is easily understandable for anyone who has been in the sport before) around the time Cotto was making a name for himself. Mayweather wanted Cotto at 140lbs, but Arum didn't think he was ready.

:lol:LOL! Everyone was complaining about Cotto Pac 2 cause it would have been a crap fight which I figured wasnt being made in the first place. If folks here aren't so full of **** they will complain about this fight too. Cotto's best days are behind him and the only way I see this fight playing out is :tired

correction "arum and cotto knew he wasnt ready".....they wanted nothing to do with him after watching floyd destroy gatti....and with good reason...they def werent ready then.....even when they might have been ready it would have been easy nights work for floyd(and im a cotto fan)...i still would have liked to have seen it though....still would

No but it will still be a good fight, and floyd could make a statement by winning big that he would have whooped cotto regardless of when it happened, kind of similair to mosley, allthough I feel shane could have done more with that big right stunning him while prime.

It's not necessarily that the man himself was 'scared' or anything like that, but that he didn't make the effort in particular to fight Cotto, or Mosley, Williams, & Margarito during their most competitive year, and instead, retired. He'd get some credit for fighting and beating Cotto now, but not nearly as much had he decided to go after the top dogs at welterweight in 2008.

Just for the sake of debate. Mayweather a couple of years younger, you could argue he wouldn't get hit with that shot.

So because Floyd didnt fight Cotto when Cotto was "ready", thats considered a duck? But when Cotto didnt fight Floyd when Floyd was ready, Cotto simply "wasnt ready yet"?

    Can you say double standard?:rofl:rofl:rofl

    i want to see Cotto/PBF.

we dont need to see PAc beat him again.

as for your question, a Cotto/PBF is better late than never (same as Pac/PBF) should have happened years ago in their prime.

think Calzaghe/Jones. better that we see it late than never.
