Floyd vs Juan 2

I am a huge fan of both

as far as the smarter fighter well to me thats a push, both are dedicated and intelligent well trained boxers who understand the game inside and out and are always well prepared or at least are well understanding of their opponent

as far as rematch and what happens i really think Floyd carried Juan in his return bout because he wanted to get rounds in and shake the cobb webs

floyd had juan in the palm oh his hand the whole fight dropped him could land easily and made juan work hard just to land a small number of punches

i think if floyd tried to stop juan he would

 

Floyd is so much smarter than Marquez. Marquez takes to many shots against inferior opposition.

Examples: Diaz, Katsidas, Cassamayor.

Juan does seem to have faster feet this time around. Still, what surprised me the most was how Floyd would trick him into leading and Juan seemed puzzled by Floyds unorthodox check left hook and lead rights. Marquez would still lose, but he would make it much, much closer. He's as great a student of the game as Floyd is, but pressure fighting doesn't seem like Juans strong point. He also doesn't have Floyds reflexes which are still intact.

Marquez is past his best weight and years past his prime, relying mostly on his Ring IQ. When Floyd cleans out a division at 38 years old, come talk to me about having the superior intellect. When Floyd beats the best ranked fighter at a higher weight he doesn't belong, come talk to me about superior Ring IQ. When Floyd loses his reflexes and fights fighters who have all the physical advantages over him, come talk to me about quality of competition.

If you think defense is based entirely on intelligence, you're sorely mistaken. Mayweather has better defense reflexes than Marquez does. That's the primary reason why he gets hit less, even when they're in similar situations in the ring. It shouldn't be a difficult concept for your ***** ass to grasp, but apparently it is, which is why you should take nails and shove them deep into your eyeballs and then proceed to drink mercury.

 

In a fight between 2 highly skilled boxers, it's probable the better athlete will always pull it out. Mayweather is more athletic and would always win based on that IMO Just like I'd always have taken Roy over Toney or Hopkins Prime 4 Prime.

 

they both have very high ring IQ's the only difference is that Mayweather was also physically gifted he had blinding speed and power in his prime. Marquez also had good speed and power but not outstanding he uses his intelligence to win which is why at 38 he is still relevant

Theyre both my favorite fighters of the present time and I think Mayweather is way above everyone right now but you have to respect JMM he has done everything he can do given Pacquiao hell 3X when guys coming in at 150-160 cant do it. At 38 he cleaned out the lightweight division and went up to 147 to fight the 1-2 p4p guy and beat him in most eyes
