We'll talk about few factors surrounding this potential fight.

    1) pacquiao dominated cotto the first time they fought

    2) cotto is bigger than manny but not ridiculously larger

    3) catchweights are justifiable imo when used for history making fights that everyone wants to see ODLH-Hopkins and Chavez-Whitaker. pacquiao-cotto rematch wouldn't be historical or super hyped

    4) pacman already had a bit of success fighting in the weight class miguel is currently in

who can explain to me why pacquiao would need a catchweight for this?

Pac is already a tiny WW. Also, he isn't as hungry as he used to be. In his mind he has nothing left to prove, therefore there's no reason for him to accept such a big disadvantage.

To be fair we dont know that Team Pacquiao have requested a catch weight this time round, from my understanding they could have requested 147 lbs.

I get the impression it is Cotto who may well be requesting a catch weight of 150 if he cannot get 154?

Is that what happened? Cotto is the one requesting the catchweight? if its true he needs to accept the fight at 147. Cotto has said it himself that he can still make 147.

My opinion is pacquiao doesn't have to fight Miguel at 154 for it to mean anything unless he i
fighting for a higher belt. If cotto is fighting to fight "the man" then it should be at 147 unless PAC wants higher. Same for Floyd.

Anybody who fights Floyd or PAC should fight at 147 unless they say they will fight at a higher weight. If Floyd or PAC is fighting for a belt then they need to fight at that weight with no catch weight

150 is a catchweight. Also that fight showed PAc is way too small.

To be honest I dont know but Cotto is quoted as saying "it wont happen at 147" and boxingsc.ene are reporting it as if Cotto is refusing 147

So I would assume (and its only an assumption) that Cotto is saying 150 as he mentions that Pacquiao fought margo at 150.

I would also assume Cotto would like to come in at 154 where he probably feels the most comfortable.
