Uzi I know your level headed and your post is common sense but the problem is that the channel was subscription only from December and we were guaranteed 2 live shows a week. This hasn't been the case and it seems Frank cant get the money together to put on as many shows as he would like. If he cant put shows on regularly how on earth can he expect folk to lay out a tenner a month?

I am signed up at the moment but cancelling with Virgin on Saturday.

    :deal

If Boxnation fails (and I expect it to) there's really no way back, especially if some fighters allegedly aren't getting paid. If DeGale, Gavin and Bellew leave it will be all over within a few months.

Unfortunately I think 'BoxNation' was Franks last throw of the dice.

I dont think he's skint by any means however I genuinely believe that his heart has gone from the sport which to be honest is a great shame. ******'s not everyones cup of tea however when you think of the nights he's put together in this country and how well this country's done within the sport over the last 20 years then you cant really argue he's done well.

Ok, ok he's not helped at all with the bogus title matches he's put on but think of how many 'World Champions' this country has produced as a result of ****** and his perfect matchmaking.

On another note, the greatest thing ****** has done IMHO is given me a chance to see some of the best fighters from around the world on these shores. Being able to see the likes of Tyson/Barrera/Tzysu and others on these shores has been fantastic and has helped promote the sport over here NO END!

Oh i thought way people on here spoke it got pushed forward, I agree with most lads on this it looks like Frank tried something that was a gamble. That's not Frank so it goes to show how hard things have come for him.

In a way all this stuff is usual Frank, he seems to happily go into liquidation and i expect it to happen soon enough. Queensbury Promotions he'll sit in background letting the kids be the face.

  6. I think his biggest failing is the inability to adapt to the modern way of thinking.

Some of their business practices are stuck in the dark ages, bringing in crappy imports with pretty looking records doesn't exactly inspire anybody, with the internet age there's bound to be some footage lurking somewhere, and there's always Boxrec.

Not like back in the 1970's when you'd say ''****ing hell, he's fighting an Italian - he must be good.... **** he's only lost twice and knocked out nearly everybody''.

Plus, I think the reluctance to make some pretty big fights haven't helped, nor has the ''one star at a time'' policy, where everyone has to play second fiddle to whoever is the chosen one at the time.

The beginning of the end came in late 2008 though IMO, with the deals for the Olympians. Paying them all megabucks, probably five times what they were worth, then putting them into obscurity on PPV undercards on an irregular basis. How the hell is anyone supposed to take interest in them?

I'm amazed that a man who's had as much success in business as Allegedly would make such a shocking mistake tbh.

I see where your coming from but look at the way 'they' treated Barrera, lets not forget. Frank is the epitome of a slimy ****, he has cost me my first handle!

Frank has been a modern day blight on the sport, as has been Arum. When the 2 leave the sport it will be a good day for boxing imo.

I think it was crazy move to set a subscription based boxing channel. What Market research did they do which suggested there would be enough people ready to pay for a boxing channel.

Like it or not this sort of channel is targetting boxing & sport fans. Now those same fans are more than likely already paying for sky sports/ESPN. £10 month not sound a lot but its still asking people to add more money to an already expensive monthly bill and I just never thought people would do that.

Because boxing doesn't have a competative architecture, no one would sign up to a boxing channel because they don't know what they are watching. Fans need to be told what to watch and this is why they get a huge shock when they tune it for "mega" fights like Haye-Valuev, Haye-Harrison and Haye-Wlad. When you are watching football, Tennis, even MMA then you know what level you are watching, who is competing, what stage they are at in the tournament and what they are competing for.

I do think Fwank is near the edge. He doesn't seem to have the infrastructure to put on the shows often enough domestically or the money to buy the international bouts. Without these 2 things a channel probably isn't so wise.

I'll support BN and hope he succeeds and I'll support most of boxing but NOTHING will change until the promoters, fighters and fan have the collective thought that sub standard **** will not be accepted.

Fwank had Sky on his side. He had the choice of loads of dates and could go to other channels for more dates just like the UFC, Top Rank etc do. He hasn't because his cards are so weak and once a year he'd try to give us one or maybe two bills which are supposed to be huge but fail.

if frank didnt spend half of his time taking digs at rival promoters in his saturday column maybe he could have talked a few of them into joining boxnation, but just going at it with your own stable of pretty average fighters is a massive gamble.

Then filling your schedule with repeats, and been arrogant by not reading this forum for example and seeing what people want, hes had 5 months to add more boxing shows, interviews, weigh ins, training camp videos.

and like the poster above said, i pay 75 quid a month for virgin media, telephone, internet, sky sports, thats bad enough and i dont fancy paying anymore for boxnation when the best fights are usually on sky anyway.

They say never bite the hand that feeds you and frank bit skysports hand and is now getting pretty cash hungry

There are SEVEN cards scheduled for February. That will mean TEN live cards so far this year. Plus about EIGHT episodes of Buncey's show. All for £20.

How can boxing fans be unhappy with this? It is ridiculous.
