No..Floyd is a natural 130 lber fighting at 147. You can't have it both ways...Floyd has only fought at 154 ONCE (who wouldnt fight Oscar for the money)

SOB Ward will never fight Martinez. SOB was the only boxer who did not have to travel in his personal tournament. Why was that? Why did Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in his tournament? Ward will never fight Bute either, he doesn't have to, afterall, he gets everything his way..........watch and see..........

Yep. Martinez vs either Pac or May at 150 would likely be badly weight-drained having to cut 10lb at a weight he hasn't made in nearly a decade. Martinez would still have the physical advantages but likely be too weak to be able to make them count, similar to DLH-Pac.

A fight with Ward at 164 looks like more of an even compromise. Ward won't be as weight drained, he was weighing 166 a couple years ago and isn't as big as the other SMWs. Martinez has made himself stronger at MW and is less than 2 inches smaller than Ward, and actually has the longer reach. He is 5-10, 162-164 does not look like too much of a stretch for Sergio's frame. He has rehydrated past 170 before at MW, whereas Pac and Mayweather don't rehydrate much past 147. Ward-Martinez has definately the better potential for a great fight, not taking into account styles.

He shouldn't fight Ward above 160, just look how its turned out for all these 160 "stars at the time" moving up lately, Abraham, Taylor, Pavlik and if Martinez fights Ward, you can add him to the list. At the moment both middleweights and lhw do wise in staying away from 168 which has some great boxers.

Lets say Martinez do fight Ward, then in a year all the geniuses on this forum will be claiming he was shot or a bum with padded record or wasn't as great at 160 as made up to be, aso aso.

Ward would be the favorite to win against Sergio, but with that said, Sergio is quick and unorthodox... more like a slick and fast Carl Froch type of guy. So he would give Ward all kinda of problems, but Ward vs Martinez would be jaw dropping, but Martinez is with HBO and Ward refusing to fight outside of Jokeland.

Ward's too big to come down to 164, so I don't think he would ever take it up. Plus, is he still tied to Showtime for the next couple of fights?

How about Abraham? He says he's too small for 168. How about meeting Sergio at 164 then? Or even Froch.

Stiles make fights and if you add Ward´s size to the equation... It is career suicide, just like you said.
Martinez should be at 154. He was 165 pounds in his last fight.

I'd rather see him fight Ward at 164.. If he beats Floyd the haters will just ***** about how big he is even if he drops to 150. I keep hearing about how Ward will destroy him(even though Ward hardly destroys anybody) so make it happen. Plus it'll be free more then likely.

I picked Sergio to KO Williams in 8 rounds...
I was also cheering for him when he fought Pavlik.
    :nut
Ward is a skilled fighter who will probably beat Martinez.
The dude is old and a loss might bring his career to and end.
