Jan has been woeful yet the £10 is still charged that is why. Feb looks good I agree but it needs to be good month in, month out with all the names to be a winner. Bunce talking over Lillis and squeling as he talks isn't a deal winner either. You do know too much of the same person doens't always work!!! Expecting a channel to work with no advertising is suicide, more PR work needs to be done.
And for that reason I hope he goes bump. Barrera is a modern days GOAT yet got treated like a Latvian TBA job. I cant have that Dan. **** Frank :deal
I have subscribed but have hardly watched the channel. Richard Keys is a smug wanker & how many times can you watch Cotto v Margarito 2? I mean seriously, they show it everyday!
The Pay Wizard put me off, then when they signed Richard Keys I figured I'd wait a while longer, sit out the inevitable quiet January period. Now wondering whether to bother at all. Had they had a regular payment option at the outset I would have signed up, now the negative stories start coming out about how long they're going to last, people who initially wavered over that might never join the fold. I think his mistake was making it too complicated/unusual to pay him for the channel - business suicide to make your customers unsure about giving you money, surely? I just didn't trust the Wizard.
The number of subscribers will rise massively next month TBA returns against Kevin Mitchell, Tommy Karpency gets his long awaited world title fight and everyone loves a Klitschko fight. Oh and you get four, 90 minute, Steve Bunce shouting specials! All for £10.
Will be interesting to see his next move. He is incredibly experienced and shrewd operator. None of what has happened at Box Nation will have surprised him and there will be a contingency plan. The issue that makes me think that Box Nation will struggle in the long term, though, is this - how do you possibly build the next star (and hence next cash cow) when you only have a five-figure audience? Frank must have thought of that one and must have an answer - unless he isn't really planning beyond the next couple of years ...
What's making it worse is watching his close friends the Hearn family lording it in his previous position with Sky. The open letter he wrote the other week shows he must be in a fair bit of turmoil to go to that length to try and publicly get one over on another promoter. Little back and forths go on all the time in boxing but he's clearly very sensitive at the mo. And the fact that his own ego has got him into this Boxnation hole must be eating away at him badly.
