See the thing is.. he isn't fighting like he's old. He's still stopping anyone put in front of him, and although they may not be anywhere close to having the skill set Ward possesses; they are still very good fighters. Is it possible Ward would beat him? Absolutely.. Is there a chance he can KO Ward who has a questionable chin? I think so.. That's why they fight. Career suicide though? Not likely.

BTW did you pick Sergio to KO PWill in the first or second fight? .. From what I remember no one gave Serge a chance in the first fight.

I didn't know much about boxing at that time but it was my favorite fight and i have seen it a loooot of times.
I dont think Sergio can KO Ward. Martinez is at his best and most powerful against southpaws. Ward has good defense and lets not forget the punch that Froch landed after the bell.
It did absolutely nothing to Ward.

He goes up in weight, in all probability loses to Ward. Maywaether wont fight him. Arum will stay the **** away. Cotto wont bother and there isn't anyone really left for him to face.

I think when Froch heard the bell he pulled back on the punch a little and did not put full force into it, it seemed like a huge shot though because Ward had his hands down not expecting to get hit. I like Andre; he's an excellent fighter and more importantly he's a good man, but he's never fought a fighter with the combination of speed, footwork, head movement and counter punching that Sergio will bring so we really don't know what will happen which is what makes for great fights. I do think Ward would be the huge favorite, but Serge is at his very best as an underdog.

Martinez is to small for Ward, he is a very small Middleweight to go any higher would be a mistake IMO, especially to face the best Super Middleweight in the world. Now if he was going to step up to 164lbs to face someone like Abraham, that would be a different story.

I would rather he tried to clear up at Middleweight - Pirog, Golovkin, N'Jikam would all be good fights, you also have the likes of Lara and eventually Alvarez.

Martinez should go and stay @ 154. A lot of good names there.

It's great that he would fight Ward.

  12. I honestly think I'm beginning to hate Martinez.

    Yep. I am.

    To hell with catchweights.

I don't think his career would derail that much if he lost to Ward. We'll say he was too small and love him for taking on a much bigger fighter... Hopeless fight, tough.

I wouldn't want to see Ward move down in weight to make this fight. Ward has no reason to move down when he's leading a packed division.
