I say Floyd, Pacquaio is faster and creates some interesting angles but he uses a lot of wasted movement. He also has a tendency to bounce out of range and to leap in to far leaving himself of balance.

You could say Floyd moves straight back too much but he is excellent at maintaining distance and escaping the ropes when he does get trapped there. No wasted movement.

Pac looks lightining fast against the Margaritos of the world.

Put him in with a guy who has decent speed and great timing, and his speed ain't ****.

Yep, Guys who have good timing and/or boxing can negate his speed pretty easily.

Floyd has better foot work and speed just watch both of their matches at 147 vs JMM and be enlightened, jumping around thing the ring throwing noodle arm punches only works against no defense flat footed brawlers, and get exposed and looks amateurish vs technical fighters who he has been ducking his whole career which is why I can't Manny ahead of Floyd in this case. Manny has one of kind foot speed but all in all his foot work is horrible and gets him in trouble at times, not to mention with his foot speed he has no ability cutting off the ring., with his foot speed he should koing his oppenets at WW early, and have no problem closing the distance rapidly like a prime Hatton

equal, floyd is more economical while pac is more manic. while floyds foot work puts him in a better position to counter by moving just enough to avoid punches, pacs footwork increases his punching power by pushing off and starting the punch from his legs.

I have seen contradicting storys from the pros I cant remember who said whats but it was

"We was watching the fight and we turned to each other and said **** did you see Pacs footwork? I aint never seen that movement in the ring before it was amazing"

and the other was the video dissecting pac v JMM 3 where pac does pointless shuffles that actually put him into to trouble and out of range to launch an attack.Props to anyone who can remind me who said the first quote

    Chris Eubank post-Hatton/Pac '09:

'Ricky was reckless. I imagine he didn't listen to the trainer, Floyd Senior. But when he did counter punch after the first round, Ricky was doing good before he lost his control again.

'He may have possessed a faster foot speed than Pacquaio, but Pacquaio was in control enough to use multi-directional foot movement that caused Hatton to keep having to change direction once he'd got close to catching up with him. Ricky would then get frustrated, throwing wild punches to try to close the distance, and Pacquaio's masterful movement would come into play in that as soon as he'd land on Ricky, he'd weave and side step to avoid exchange.

'Ricky wanted to fight, Manny wanted to box and punch. Pacquaio has the discipline and conditioning to weave and side step after almost every punch or combination he throws. Maximo Pierret taught this to me and I put it into practice in one of my best wins against Graciano Rocchigiani.'

This is a question that really shows if you even know boxing 101. The guys saying Pacquiao just reveal how little they know. Did you guys watch Pacquiao vs Marquez? It was essentially a battle of footwork, and Pacquiao couldn't place himself right all ****ing night. Pacquiao is quick, and he's got good reaction timing with his legs. But he's frequently off balance and easily out-maneuvered by a good boxer. Even Shane Mosley was able to reveal a bit of that in their fight. On the other hand you've got Floyd who's defense actually relies 50% on footwork. Floyd's boxing stance is incredible, as he's always with his knees bent. When he dodges a shot, it's most likely because of some great footwork. And some will call it running, but Floyd is a master of moving throughout the ring. I don't think it's even close, I say Floyd has better footwork by a mile.
