How does it rate amongst his best victories? How does it rate against Pacquiao beating Cotto at 145lbs in 2009?
There's no "if" imo This is Floyd's fight all day and he wins by stoppage. It won't rate too highly for me.
:thumbsup if he wins an 8-4 9-3 UD it is AS good as the DLH win IMO, which is top 5. If he stops Cotto it is one of his best wins. Top 3.
It will look better then Pac win, or should I say in the eyes of a unbias fan it will. Mayweather would be facing a bigger Cotto then what Pac faced, although Cotto is older now, he's still younger then Mayweather and he's fighting him at a weight that Mayweather has only fought once before. Taking the title from a champion in his own back yard, should always look better then bringing him to you. Haters and Pac fans will continue to do what it is they do to discredit Floyd and praise Pac no matter what, but to the die hard boxing fan, who appreciate the sport, they will see the significance and greatness of doing such a thing.
Obviously it depends on the performance, but if he beats him as expected, it should count just as much as Pac's win over Cotto, and would definitely be one of Floyd's top 3 wins, possibly his best.
I think it rates below DLH, Corrales, Castillo and maybe below Marquez, arguably below Judah also. I think Cotto is still prime and has improved his defence and ring smarts (headbutting Margarito was clever). So beating a Cotto at a comfortable 154lbs who is on a good run with tightened defence with a better trainer is slightly better than beating him at 145lbs, but there isn't much in it.
true, at the end of the day floyd always fights better versions of common opponents of pac. and Floyd Vs. Cotto @ 150+ adds to that list.
Bull****. Fighting Cotto at his natural rate with a proper trainer beats the hell out of beating a weight drained Cotto who basically trained himself and had no game plan.
