If it were held in less regard, then so should Pac's wins over Oscar, Hatton, and Mosley.

It would in the same class, as these, one of his best 7: Genaro, Corrales, Castillo II, de la Hoya, Hatton, Mosley

 

Cotto has been labeled DAMAGED goods by the Floyd fanboys for some time now. Curious to see how they'd label this.

Personally, I'd see it as a good win. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd expect a wide UD win for him, which would be a nice win at 154, equal to the late TKO Pac got. If he stops him at 154, I'd be impressed and I'd rank it above Pacs victory.

 

Counts more obviously as Cotto wont be drained and the fight will
be a division above where Mayweathers comfortable and dominant.

Floyd win will mean more legacy wise IMO.

 

I'd give May props depending on how he wins. If he dominates like he did to Mosley then it would be one of his better wins. Regardless its still > Ortiz fight

But too bad Floyd doesn't fight Pac's 'leftovers' ...

 

Bull****. Rewind back to 2009, and noone was complaining about Cotto being weight drained. Pretty much everyone was in agreement that he came in good shape on the night. And now, at 154, Cotto is not at his natural weight. He's suffered two brutal beatings, has slowed down a bit, has admitted to not having the same hunger he had before, and just finds it easier training for 154 instead of 147. His best weight where he was at his most effective, was back down at 147. Which is why he's been carefully managed at this weight, and his hardest fight so far has been a Margarito that he tried to get down to 150 at one point. Yeah, his natural weight, isn't it :roll:.

And I find it really funny that throughout this whole time, Cotto has been damaged goods and overrated according to a notable amount of Floyd fans, and now all of sudden he's the best he's ever been after beating a one-eyed Margarito . Let's be honest, Cotto today isn't that different from the Cotto that fought Pacquiao, to where he's all of a sudden prime now. Sure, he's learned one or two tricks, but his best days are behind him.

 

It gets chalked up as another "too late" victory. Everybody wanted this fight when Cotto was a beast at 147 and undefeated. Beating him now will only add to Mayweather's reputation of not fighting the best at their primes.

Keep in mind I am a huge Cotto fan. If they fought four years ago, I would consider that Mayweather's best win by far.

 

Okay, so who in your eyes is an A+ fighter? And how many A+ fighters has Floyd beaten?:deal

 

Stating PAc beat a weight drained Cotto is just what they do. Fact is, Cotto weighed ONE pound less then in his previous fight, and showed NOTHING in the ring to suggest going down one more pound hindered his performance in any way. It's jus the typical ESB Floyd Fanboys at work. :-(

 

This^ Cotto has a better trainer now than he has had in a long time and seems to have his confidence back after that Margo win. Plus @ 154 Cotto has an advantage from 145. If Floyd wins its easily top 5 victory for him.

 

How does fighting at 154 mean he has an advatage from 145? :huh Is it simply being HEAVIER? Cotto wasn't struggling to make 147 when he fought there. He moved up because he suffered two brutal KO's at 147, and had a title shot lined up at 154 vs. Foreman.

There's been NOTHING to suggest making 145 drained him in any way. But hell...hear something repeated enough....gerbils...Richard Gere.... gains a life of it's own.

 

147 was Cotto's natural weight division, not 145. And now 154 is Cotto's natural weight class. If Floyd fights Cotto @ 154 than simply put, Floyd
will not be trying to gain an advantage in weight as Pac needed against Cotto. Therefore more props to Floyd!
