He should use that style against someone who isn't shot or recently KTFO...let's see how effective it is.. Oh wait, he did, against JMM and was schooled.

And then there's fighters who when they fight a live body become a ****ing mess on the ring.. For example look at Pacquiao's last fight.

Everyone knows Pacquiao throws punches from awkward angles in all of his fights, I don't know why it would come as a surprise to you. Also landing and throwing more punches then your opponent usually equals a victory. Pacquiao averaged 13 more punches throw per round, outlanded him in every round beside 1 with another round even, out jabbed him in 8, with one additional round even, and out power punched him in 8, he outlanded Marquez in 9 rounds with Marquez outlanding Pacquiao in 1 with 2 rounds even, overall he outlanded Marquez in 8 rounds and out punched overall him by 36 with a similar connect percentage. Good day sir :good

He does this one habitually though and will suffer a knockdown if he keeps it up. Squaring his entire body like a karate kid in their warm-up stance and often with the rear stabilizing base leg entirely off the floor. He's too squared up to have good balance, and the left leg meant to keep him rooted isn't even in the ground. Doesn't even have his chin tucked in some of those punches.

Like I said you can count multiple times in every single a fight that a fighter squares himself up and finds himself off balance. EVERY SINGLE fight. Stick to bball "champ", they are human beings not gods.

I see what you mean you chad. Habits and flaws really only become troublesome or bad when they can be taken advantage of. They've worked so far the majority of the time for manny, but I see it being real ugly for him once his speed advantage is gone by fighting someone with comparable or greater speed, or he slows down too much from age and can no longer get away with these unorthodox moves. He likes to keep his left hand down real low when throwing this weird jab. Marquez isn't even that fast and was able to exploit these habits and flaws.

Its part of what makes him great.

Throwing unorthodox (not amateur) Shots from strange angles with speed and power.

Anyone whos boxed will understand. It becomes human nature blocking the standard shots. When ever some one throws something from a wierd angl3e, it catches you off guard.

And he gets away with looking off balance because of his speed and athletic ability.

its easier to block an orthodox shot, than it is an unorthodox shot.

He has an exceptionally quick feet. He's a busy Southpaw!

A lot of the time an orthodox fighter will bend into the power hand of the Southpaw cause that is the way he used to bending to avoid the punches from an orthodox fighter, now imagine bending that way against a Southpaw who throws combinations and looks to follow up. Its potentially gonna be more difficult to roll with the punches or find counters in between his combinations.
