Pac looked terrible against an opponent that May easily dominated, he is coming off a (loss) gift and expects/demands 50/50 at the bargaining table????... 40 million is more than Pac has made in any of his fights, the problem lies that the 40 million pay out does not go directly to Pac, but Arum and company, Koncz, Araiza, Roach, Buboy, and his 200+ entourage, as a result, when it is all said and done, Pac's final pay out will be ALOT less. That is why Pac is refusing, in all honesty there are valid points and arguments on both sides. I can see why Pac deserves 50/50 and I can see why May is arguing why Pac does not deserve it...... My personal opinion just because of the hype, magnitude, star power, and global celebrity that Manny is it should be 50/50, but at the end of the day this is a complex business with lawyers, Managers, promoters, advisers, and every body and their mother is greed driven, wants every last cent they can squeeze without giving these boxers, their due. Boxers being exploited is nothing new, but this is being done on a much larger scale, with better Public Relations people making it look like the boxers don't want the fight.
Take out the De La Hoya factor, Pac and Floyd's PPV average sales do not differ greatly from each other. Pac has been a PPV star longer than Floyd and actually has more total PPVs. 50/50 is fair and a recent poll here shows that even the majority of ESB's Floyd fans say it's fair. In fact, it was a landslide poll (90%) in favor of 50/50. It doesn't matter who else gets Pac's money afterwards as that is besides the point.
Everyone is going on about 50/50. Pac said 50% floyd said no. Did pac ask floyd what he wanted? No, you would think that if pac really wanted the fight he would find out what floyd had in mind. If pac was just looking for a way out he would just walk away. Once pac said no to floyd taking the bigger share who came back with another offer? Pac? Look team pac has no interest in fighting floyd it only takes a moron to think otherwise. May 5 no. They want may 19 or wait may 26 or wait june nah its perfect for november outside in the ****ing winter. Did I forget to mention the outdoors staduim as the reason they couldn't fight on may 5. So that won't be reasonable in the winter time so what makes november perfect? Its not now. Now we are hearing rumors of pac being part of a tournment that would put off a possible fight another 18-24 months that assuming pac could get by jmm, and bradley. I could see how one could conclude mayweather is the one ****ing up the I mean team pac is doing everything in their power to make the fight.
What other offer are you talking about? He's offering 50/50 which is fair. What if I said Pac wants 60/40? Would you say "oh, well how come Floyd isn't giving up 55/45 - pac/floyd as a counter offer, I mean they are doing everything in their power to make the fight"
I guess you missed the part about asking floyd what he wanted. You don't go into something and say this is what I want and then walk away. You find out what the others want as well. They you have a starting point. Floyd is a egomaniac we all know this for all we know he could have wanted a 50.01/49.99 split or a 80/20. Pac never asked so how can you say that floyd is holding it up when he is the only one talking?
What kind of ass backwards logic is this? Floyd said exactly what he wanted - 100/0 and he'd pay Pacquiao 40mil out of his own pocket.
Dude, 50/50 is the fair option, anything else that either fighter asks would just be a dick move, which is what is happening. And we know already what Floyd wants, and it looks unreasonable if only for the fact that Arum's still gotta have his piece
I believe there was already a thread (with a poll) months ago where it was universally agreed upon that either fighter asking for more than 50% would be an outright duck.
pac just asked for a simple 50/50 split. no BS. if pac wants to play it hard, he could have said 60/40 or 55/45. everbody knew that floyd's offer is a low-ball even floyd himself.
:hi: People have been getting comfortable with 50/50 from Pac that they're beginning to believe that it's his actual request and that fulfilling it would be doing him a favor :dead and yet in reality it would be doing ALL of us a ****ing favor and finishing this nonsense
Doesn't matter what Floyd does. Pac fans will blindly defend Pac/Arum 'til the end. I can't speak for all of them as I admit some do seem to have a sense of reasoning. But for the most part they will reject anything that puts them in a negative light. It's like being in denial. The phone call doesn't change a thing. Floyd is in the same place he always has been. Does he have flaws? Yes, part of the blame goes to him. But you Pac fans assume just because he makes a few bad decisions, Team Pac is all of a sudden squeaky clean. It doesn't work that way. What Floyd did does not erase the long list of ridiculous excuses that came from Pac's camp. So let's pretend for a moment that Floyd never made the alleged phone call. You still have a shitload of Pac fans spouting bull**** like, "Mayweather is bluffing" or "Floyd does not have power to dictate the date and venue." It never ends. At the very LEAST both sides lose. There is no way Arum and Pac have dug themselves out of the hole. The best they accomplished was going from a -10 to a 0.
