I think a fight with any of Froch, Dirrell, Ward is atleast a step in the right direction even if he wont leave Canada. But i reckon they see Froch as more suited to Bute and will make Bute look better than anybody else that can be seen as a viable opponant that wont get ripped apart by all none Canadian boxing fans.

Froch is more SUITED TODAY. He has the resume and he's still sorta prime. Dirrel is near prime, but needs more quality wins to have the resume of Froch.
Bute will fight both in due time, same with Kessler, Steiglitz and Tony Dirrel, problem is that both Kesselr and Froch are looking to cash out, and Bute needs them sooner rather than later.

Froch might not be the best skilled fighter in the division but he should never be considered a bum. Froch many times has broke his limits and won fights he normally should've lost. He ain't no walk in the park. Bute in my mind is favorite due to skill lvl and style suitability.

Froch has booked a homecoming fight. If Bute wants it he can do the unthinkable and go fight away from home. I won't hold my breath though, Les Sherrington is available.:rofl:patsch

If he was fighting some random guy it doesnt matter where.

However home advantage gives at least 10% in preparation, focus, motivation etc.

and these top fighters are so close, that 10% can easily swing a fight.

I think Bute has enough to beat Froch even in Nottingham but it would be a better and closer fight than it would be in Canada.

In the super six every single fight was won by the hometown guy because these guys are so close in skill level - that the hometown tips it.

In soccer we often see Man United win 2-0 at home and lose 1-3 away to the same team. If we had only seen one of the games - some boxing fans would think that it is settled that they are just better... but this is far from the case.

Eddie Hearn best be careful taking Froch to Montreal. His top fighters continue to get beaten in a foreign country.Bute vs Froch is a fight that Bute desperatley requires to enhance his credentials, but fighting and beating him in England would even be better for his fading "rep".
I am convinced that a fight in the UK between these two would create the same wealth that a Montreal fight could.Bute MUST fight an "away" bout one of these days.

Same here actually. However, over at Interbox, they're jerking off to the thought of having the Bell Centre in April on a Saturday night with the Habs out of the playoffs. April 14th it is, not May 5th in Nottingham. Really is too bad if you ask me.

You have to admit, there were a lot of Bute fans saying Froch was ducking Bute. Now everyone except Showtime wants the fight and we may not get it.I fear that if it seemed a formality just a few weeks ago,and now it seems to really have taken a pounding, something that may be unresolvable could be at work here.
