From what I understand, Froch has never even hinted at ducking Bute. He's always wanted the best, and has fought the best. Win or lose, Froch ducks NO MAN. He is a fighter's fighter. He knows who the top 10 are, and he wants ALL of them. He's wants #1 Ward, #2 Bute, #4 Kessler, #5 Dre, #6 Stieglitz, #7 TonyD, # Johnson, #9 Sartison, #10 Pavlik. He's fought #'s 1,4,5,4@LHW,#15,#8,#11,and Reid #13 at the time. He's got arguably the best resume of anyone in any division, and if he's to take this fight with Bute, he could easily win the WBO title IMO, and even the WBO LHW title whenever he chooses.:deal
Impressive post Chitown.:deal But when I first got involved in the Froch/Bute debate,there were at least two long-running threads where people were accusing Froch of ducking Bute.Just like saying Bute wasn't good enough for the S6,a ridiculous claim.But I give you my word,those threads existed.
jesus, these bute/ward/froch threads are becoming the new Mayweather/Pacquaio threads. they even have their posters who rarely post about anything else infesting them. Out of all available fights for Bute a Froch fight in England would be best for his legacy and reputation but even a Froch fight in Canada is a good win and far better than Dirrell who I actually think is better than Froch. Froch is proven, Dirrell hasn't done anything in 2 years and has only one significant win in his whole career vs a guy who proved to be completely useless at SMW. Dirrell needs to win a couple fights vs decent opposition to prove he's back to his old self and worthy of a title shot, Cunningham don't mean ****.
Interesting to look back and see all the shitty posters bashing Bute back then saying Johnson has a great chance , some saying that Glen will knock him out.
This is bang on! Froch has a better resume and would be considered a better win by far than Dirrel who has had such a long layoff even though I think dirrel in the long run will prove to be a much better fighter than froch. Froch has been an over achiever and Dirrel is inactive. Business wise it would make more sense to do the back-2-back fights with froch get those two big wins in and then he will be clearly at the some level as ward in the division (depending how he looks). After that go on to concur the American market (which in the long run he wants to be). Right now A fight with dirrell in the US will not do much. yes it will give him immediate exposure to the US market but it is a less credible win than froch. It also would not make as much money as fighting in Montreal or england with froche. With any business venture its always about risk/reward. dirrel IS the bigger risk while Froch is the bigger reward (2nd place in S6 and more money). Showtime is looking for the best fight in the US market today, it is not into developing a fighters career like HBO. IMO I see Ward-Bute-Dirrel as the 3 best fighters in the division, of the three Bute is the Money maker, therefore any fight amongst the 3 should be on Bute terms regardless of how you rank them in the ring. Belts and titles mean nothing it is how brings money to the table that counts:deal

No problem with Dirrell fighting Bute but he doesn't put an ass in the arena...as Froch does in Nottingham and in Montreal. Fight Froch first, then Dirrell and finish with Ward:bbb

Bute vs Ward is the only fight at the weight that matters Dirrel does nothing to advance Bute and Froch is a way better opponent than Dirrel
