    Interesting, never head of him but will have a look soon. Improving your amateur boxing is easily possible, provided enough funding is provided and time invested in the sport. Same formula that Ireland has done to go from mediocre amateurs to world class amateurs.

    Our amateurs used to be pretty good, we were bringing home medals from every Olympics for decades. That did factor in our pros being crap, as amateurs didn't care much for going pro. Our best amateur got shot in the foot a few months ago, he was our best hope for having someone to qualify to the Olympics in the first place. He could still make it, but I doubt that helped much.
