Alright so we've pretty much narrowed it down to Froch and Dirrell in terms of who Bute will face next.

Froch is with Hearn, and the scenario seems to entail no American tv - Froch must get paid, hence the need for Bute to take less money. And Bédard said they were prepared to do that, that they owed it to the fans.

Dirrell went solo.. well, he's got grandpa & uncle Lawson to help him deal with everything surrounding the legal binding, contractual obligations, marketing, and overall promotion of boxing events. Solid plan.

Do you think Dirrell still has a shot at making a fight with Bute considering good ol' Al Haymon's been fired?

Or do you think a Bute-Froch fight is now inevitable?

    Poll coming.

I think IBox will presure Sho for a Bute - Froch fight , and given the circumstances , they will give up and broadcast the fight. And they will need Froch acceptance to fight in Montreal. Of cours , for a good amount of money.

Of course it is still possible, it depends how much Dirrell is willing to give, Bute is the draw he doesn't have to give anything...Froch fight may not happen because his trainer will be leading& preparing the Great Britain olympic boxing team....plus wants a home fight first... so yes it is possible for Dirrell. Maybe not the most likely...but possible yes

Dirrel's people said they won't fight Bute in Montreal. They don't have a choice , leverage missing.

Bingo. If, ultimately, it's up to them, this fight isn't happening.

I just worry that something that was more or less signed a few weeks ago must be in serious trouble to have dragged on this long.May not happen I fear. Can you imagine that Drozzy? After all the pride and testosterone that's been invested!

bute in canada is gonna sell out any place anytime he fights...the opponent has never mattered...so it really comes down to what the market will pay his opponent and obviously they are gonna make less than Bute and it comes down to how the split up the money

thats whats wrong with boxing...guys with no belts and a handful of fights will turn down world title fights because everything isnt all cake and ice cream for them. no one ever wants to take a risk . it takes one fight to agree to the champions terms of location and if you think you can win then you get to be the shot caller next time...but balls and boxing have long since been awol

I said it before, if Bute is being fed someone like Green or Stevenson, I'm driving down to Montreal for the riots. :D

IMO Dirrell just won't be able to hold his own in negotiations with Bédard.

If Interbox puts their money where their mouth is, they will offer a 1M ballpark purse to Froch without a Showtime contribution/involvement. It's not too far fetched a sum, and Bute would get a few hundred K's.

Bute-Froch is what we want, is what the division NEEDS. Bute must be elevated to Ward, Froch and Kessler's degree of credibility. Ward isn't available, Kessler is busy..... everybody wants to see Bute-Froch, it's the widely agreed upon next best thing to Bute-Ward.

I think I/box owe it to Bute's fans to deliver a big name.I'd bet Bute himself really wants a big name because he knows he needs it.I've said for a while, from reading what his fans say,Interbox could turn out to be his worst enemy legacy-wise.

He said he wants to fight them both (Ward/Froch), right, in their backyard if need be. Bédard said he owes it to Bute himself, as well as his fans.

    :good

Pre-failure hope. So much hope is put into the Habs going all the way WHEN they are part of the playoffs... if they start to win, make it past the first round, the disappointment is un****inbelievable when they finally lose.

Why? You need him to be a multi, multi country star with fans everywhere? He sells 20K in Romania, 20K in Quebec. :think

It's a business. Him and Kessler are big sellers, only Bute is in American tv network territory in terms of timezone. :yep

    for a Bute hater you began to make sense; the only concern Dirrell should have is neutral referee and 2 neutral judges;

Dirrell is not going anywhere near Bute. Andre must have figured out just how worthless Haymon is when he does not have a network to strongarm via insider relations.

Froch in Quebec would be just fine, even without pretentious U.S. coverage that is so overrated in boxing's trend towards globalization.
