Burns has skills and alot of them but his actually punching and defensive technique needs alot to be desired. He loops alot, doesn't turn his hands over, chin up, often pulls/falls back etc

Seriously good fighter - tough, good engine, good skills and more than enough to beat the majority of fighters who will never be able to take advantage of such small openings due to technical flaws. I think it will need a high level fighter/boxer to do it. Someone who is world class like JMM.

Fury without a doubt, how he keeps winning I will never know

He is spectacularly bad... shame really, considering his dimensions. He's about the level of Tye Fields right now, but with a proper trainer he could do really well.

Unfortunately, he's an arrogant fool surrounded by other arrogant fools.

    Too many to name really.

    James DeGale's punch technique?

George Groves random flinching/spazzyness for no reason?

Fury off balance all the time.

Khan bolt upright like one of those sticks attached to a sunflower and his flurries

We produce a wide variety of fighters, with a wide variety of great attributes - speed, power, stamina, strength etc. But technique...we very rarely master. Who is the last genuinely top notch all-round technical fighter we produced, offense and defence? Michael Watson? Says it all really.

Lennox was very good too. Although certainly his size helped him, hard to imagine how his skills translate within the context we judge most fighters by.

The company he keeps is equally awful. Its embarassing to say to a non boxing fan that someone who looks and fights like Fury is THE British & C'Wealth champ!

Fury has redeeming qualities though, as does Cleverly, in fact as does Khan. The thing that ties them all together is heart and will. Like him or not Fury can dig in really deep when it's required. Eventually he'll be found out when it's not enough, like the other two mentioned, and Froch too come to think of it.

    Winning isn't just about skill.

I agree but skill should trump will. If it doesn't then the skill level simply isn't high enough.

Lennox was big and it helped but if he was smaller he would be faster, more agile, more co-ordinated, have a better engine etc I think his skills were top notch for a man his size. He could box or brawl to a very high level.

I love the fact that Fury covered up after taking a shot from himself

DeGale punched himself in the face when he fought the Pole recently. It happens more than you think. Not very many fighters have clean and controlled punching.

The leaner, more agile version bombed out Ruddock but had to grit it's teeth and pull out all the stops against Bruno.
