noone cares about a Bute vs Dirrell fight right now...even though Dirrell very well might turn out better than Froch at this time no one respects him as an opponent choice, Bute would get criticized for taking on someone who hasn't won a significant fight in 2 years and who has never really accomplished anything other than a close fight vs Froch and beating an Abraham who proved to be a useless SMW. They would call Dirrell a mentally weak hypejob if Bute beat him and Bute would get no credit despite Dirrell actually being better than Froch IMO. Dirrell needs to beat a decent opponent and prove he's back to his old level.

Then I doubt that fight is going to happen.

    Agreed.

Something sounds fishy to me about Showtime's motivations in this whole thing. I don't see how it hurts them to have Bute-Froch. Unless they really are angling for an extension to Bute's contract.

Meaning, they'd make the 1st fight in Nottingham?

Dirrell will go to Canada if they put neutral judges.Froch fight is off click the link i posted before or read this:Froch: Bute won’t be next - UK fight first, then world title assault
‘Cobra’ set for routine fight on home soil

Former WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch will not be fighting Lucian Bute this spring and will fight his next bout in the UK, possibly in his home city of Nottingham as the 34 year-old explained on Sky Sports tonight.

Froch, who lost out to Andre Ward in the final of the Super-Six tournament, was tipped to challenge Bute in a two-legged contest for his IBF 168lb title but will now fight in the UK in a warm-up bout before targeting another world belt.

“I’ve fought everywhere recently in big world title fights and I have got some air miles” said Froch on Sky Sports earlier.

“I want a home fight first, possible Nottingham or just in Britain, then on to another world title after that and maybe look at Lucian Bute.”

Bute, 31, could now face Andre Dirrell in April following the American’s decision to promote himself and leave Gary Shaw and adviser Al Haymon to setup his own promotional company.

This, I said Dirrell-Bute was possible for the same reason this article says.

Yet Dirrell thinks he DOES have leverage negotiating for a Bute fight.

This fight makes no sense financially compared to a Ward or Froch fight, but who the ****'s left?

20+ K people in attendance in Montreal vs ~5000 in attendance in Detroit.

Which location gets you more money, Andre? Who has the belt, you or Bute?

Fight the champ on his terms, or don't fight at all. That's the way Ward plays the game when he has leverage, why would Bute not do the same?

Bute-tards now jumping on the fact that Dirrell is making his own path as far as management goes.

Dirrell thinks the great Leon Lawson will do better than Al Haymon in getting Bute to fight on HIS terms.

    Two things come to mind.

"Good luck Andre" & "Who the **** do you think you are Andre".

LMAO @ the thought of Team Dirrell Promotions spearheading the promotion of an event in MI. :rofl

If you were a boxing fan you'd support this move by a fighter. They deserve to make the money they bleed and cry for in the gym.

But ofcourse, you're nothing but a no good nut hugger. If this was Bute leaving Interbox to make waves alone you'd be on here screaming off the roof tops.

Top american boxers struggle to get 5000 people in the arena for their fights and you would expect a European living in Canada to attract 20000 people in the US before considering hm a star ?
