Bigger robbery, "Foreman-Schulz" of '95 or "Foreman-Briggs" of '97?

Irrelevant? Hmmmmm... Forget the ABC ratings; Briggs got a 1998 WBC title shot at Lewis based on his 1997 gift win over Foreman... That's factual... WORD!

Yes but that's all it was, someone going on to get a title shot at lewis's paper belt.

When you consider that holyfield was knocking out tyson and lewis was knocking out golota, noone was looking at foreman v briggs to see who the real champion was... WORD!

Had Foreman won against Briggs and received a title shot against Lewis, how badly do you think Lewis would have beaten George? Do you think the fight would have been competitive at all? It's amazing how Briggs was able to hurt Lewis, but Briggs never dented Foreman with any shots. Foreman was a tough, tough man.

Lewis would have knocked out old george and he wouldn't have received much credit for doing so; same way he doesn't receive much credit for knocking out briggs.

Had George won in 1997 like he was expected to against Briggs, Foreman at age 49 in 1998 would've bypassed Lewis altogether and sought another HBO "Gimmie" fight for $5 million dollars more... However, Lawrence Holmes was lurking in the shadow seeking to fight Foreman, and it almost came off in 1999, but the promotion down in Texas sucked ass and Foreman was told he'd be forced to take a cut in pay, so he packed-up and split...

Lewis wasnt dumb enough to fight Foreman like Moorer did. I would say the power that Lewis had in his righthand and the ease at which it was to land on George I think Lewis would have had a really good shot at stopping Foreman and probably would have within 6 or 7 rounds.

Thats because Briggs sucks! Darrol Wilson knocked out Briggs before Lewis did, big deal.

Exactly he'd been stopped by wilson and outboxed by foreman before lewis smacked him around.

Then ten years later vitali fans hype up the fight as if vitali is taking on a dangerous opponent.

Foreman vs. Briggs gets my vote... Foreman won that fight clearly IMO. Sculz did well and a case can be made that he deserved the win, but I think it was more of a case of an unknown surprising everyone.

I'll give Briggs a pass for pussin' out against Wilson '96...... Briggs punched himself out quickly and was still green... Had they rematched a year later, I feel Briggs KO's Wilson 4 outta 5 X if they'd fought..... Strange **** occurs in boxing....

I got my "Foreman-Shultz" tape going---again... I love this fight from regular 1995 HBO... The good ole days / nights...

I still give the nod to Big George by a hair over Shultz.

Both were bad robberies. I had 8-4 Schulz if I remember. Rounds 1, 4, 5,6, 8, 9, 10, 12 Axel. 2,3,7,11 for George. Maybe one round could be flipped. To make it 7-5. But I do remember Axel closing the show strong from 8 on only losing I think the 11th.
He had sharper punches, he didn't let George push him around and his combinations were crisper. He boxed too he didn't run.
Briggs vs Foreman same thing only this time I had it 8-4 Foreman. I have to rewarch it again but I thought Foreman won very easily.

Seems a bit uncharacteristic of Lennox to go for the KO in that scenario taking everything into consideration. I think he'd have a bit more (and perhaps a bit too much) respect for the old man and take a wide points win.

Both were probably wrong decisions, but Foreman vs. Briggs worse.
