How do you know that Mansour's camp offered 35K for a Chauncy fight?

As for the other fights you mention, forget about Banks or Pala. Those bouts would be staged under conditions not controlled by Chauncy's backers. I can't see them going for it.

I don't know what's happening with Meehan, or who's promoting him.

A Barrett fight is impossible because Chauncy's people can't possibly offer Monte the purse he wants -- and deserves -- since beating Tua.

Monsour and Chuancey had negotiations on Facebook and 8ct. Monsour even offered his 30-35K purse while accepting the 20-25K purse.

Chauncey was however booked at the time, and the money wasn't right.....but like I said, some of these fringe contenders like Welliver, Rodriguez, Wach, and others, without TV contracts really need to take a shorter stack to get that bigger fight.

I say Meehan and Leapei because they fight out of OZ and would be big fights in Asia or NZ/OZ.

As for Pala or Banks, both fighting outta Europe......just fights I think Welliver could make if he accepted terms. Banks often fights on K2 UCs, and that would generate the $$$ to get Chauncey some exposure, and I'd favor Panda over any of these guys.

Sucks that promoters and $$$ get in the way so many times in our sport. Hopefully some of this stuff can be sidestepped so we can ge these bigger bouts. Glad NBC has stepped it up with their new series as Chamber and Liakovich might get remade, and Rodriguez and Welliver could use it to their own advantage to gain much needed exposure on the world scene.

Awesome. I became a fan of him way back when he lost to Hoggman John Sargent and I watched it on Fox Sports. I was like wtf is this as both guys were heavy dudes. But then they battled it back and forth across the ring, even when they were laying on eachother on the ropes they were just pounding away. At the end of rounds they were in eachothers faces. And he lost a close fight. I was like, damn this 20-21 year old fat kid can fight. Hoggman was a full fledged man at that point and a good fighter. Shows what good match making can produce without the skills being out of this world.

I am not a huge fan of MMA but I like to watch Big Country Roy Nelson fight. I love to see a guy who is flabby beat up on some chiseled dudes. When heavy guys can really fight, they are always fun to watch to me.

The thing with Chauncy is, he's no longer fat and he has cardio condition that makes many of these chiseled dudes look like amateurs. He has a motor that runs and runs. I'd love to see him on USA TV with a Seth Mitchell fight. I think Welliver takes all he can dish and motors to a UD win and shows you that a muscle head can be out runned and gunned by a guy with a little flab going......he doesn't have much left from the Solis night.

25K to 35K, to me at least, sounds like an unrealistically high purse for both guys in a Welliver vs Mansour fight. That means the promoter would have to pay $50K to $70K in purses just to stage the fight, which is way out of line for fighters of this level (up-and-coming prospects who still haven't busted out of the Tier 2 or Tier 3 level). Add that big TV probably wouldn't be interested in this, and the purses are impossible.

I'm sure Banks and Pala would fight Chauncy in Europe, but no competent manager of an up-and-coming prospect like Chauncy would accept those fights. Bringing Chauncy to Europe means almost zero chance of winning, because the Europeans are experts are robberies.

Meehan and Leapai are interesting possibilities, but I don't know what's happening on the Australian scene. If Australian or NZ television isn't interested in making these fights, then Chauncy could expect no more than $15K in purse money for these bouts, which isn't appealing given the degree of risk involved.

Nothing against Chauncy, but I don't think he's yet reached a developmental stage as a fighter where he could beat Banks or Pala under any conditions, even in a fair fight (i.e., non-European promotion).

I am very interested in studying Chauncy's fight with Mensah. Is there a reason why the film isn't on youtube?

Welliver was never offered that kind of money there. Team Mansour was exposed. They also said he ducked them for the interim WBO HW Title. They were just a hack garage band team and a bunch of liars. Chauncy said he never got a dollar offer.

The fight was for about 1 month later. Any WBO interime world title fight would go to purse bid....and China would win it and then they would both make good damn money. It was a bogus deal to go to Delaware in 1 month and no money was offered. That card, in fact, never even occurred. It was PR and an attack on Welliver Nation. Which responded and minimized the damage and exposed them.

What you have is the WBC #6 and WBO #11 and rising as Mansour is in prison and Chauncy just defended both orgs titles. He is in position to get to a level where a purse bid is laid out by an org. And then, the fighters will get what they are worth, whoever will pay the most for the eliminator fight. And I'd bet on China taking down those bids.

Don't forget, Holyfield is a fight they want to put on in China. Solis as a rematch could be huge as he is Olympic Gold. Povetkin could be mega huge as he has a title and is a gold medalist. Let the Chinese compete on these bids. You can see from the pictures that Chauncy is packing huge stadiums for mega events for Rob Calloway and Laurie Tauasa. Just imagine what another huge named fighter would do. Something big should come soon.

After reading Kenmores post that was another factor...mansour had no damn TV at all. Chauncy said hey dude get back to me if we can geta TV date, an eliminator, or if you are open to coming to China for big purses. But I'm not sure he could go to China. They locked him back u for some BS about another guy with a felony living with him. I guess he didn't even do anything wrong. I was hoping to see it as Chauncy is a tower compared to him and very prime and he is old as hell.

No need to defend Chauncy here. Purses of $25K to $35K would require the backing of a big promoter with a TV contract, and Mansour clearly doesn't have that. The facebook offer was obviously nonsense, and any half-knowledgeable boxing fan should know better than to believe it.

Can you give me the links to the pictures? Also, can you give me any links to articles that discuss Chauncy's Chinese promotional ties in detail?

I want to know who the Chinese promoters are.

Go to Chauncy Welliver and add him as a friend on facebook. I mined the pictures from there. I used many of them in the video in the OP. The stadiums are massive and every seat is packed. The billboards are going, people outside of the venue are watching the fights on the big screens, thousands of em. Look at all of the Chinese kids that are young athletes flocking to Chauncy. He was training with literally thousands of young athletes at one of their mega complexes. They love that Panda Hat. Yao Ming is even involved in the Panda Movememnt and just was in on releasing a few Pandas into the wild. It's a massive honor to be The Boxing Panda.....Running Bear!

    Put 1 in my Avi.

If what you are saying is true, then there must be some kind of media coverage.

Again, I know of several tough Tier 2 heavyweights who would love to go to China to fight Chauncy, even if it meant taking short money. I don't think Chauncy will give them the chance.

They don't use you tube in China. The pressers were extravagant themselves. They were on TV in China. Tauasa did something like 17 million live and 30 million views after replays. The city he fought Calloway in has 16 million people. We are talking scale numbers that dwarf anything molst of us has seen. NYC is not that massive in comparison to other places.

I am disappointed in Welliver. He shouldn't be losing rounds to opponents like that.

Rob Calloway had a blast. Tauasa was living in Hong Kong. Chauncy has given outs tons of chances over the last couple years. The guys who fight him have a lot to gain and he has everything to lose. He gives out chances, where is his?

The guy took rounds from Alex leapai as well and went the distance with him. He has some credible wins.

Mensah was chosen because he was tough and a brawler who would try to test Welliver. He was known to be a dirty and vicious fighter. he keeps attacking after the bell, he holds, he does all kinds of crazy stuff and really doesn't listen to the ref. He is a spirited warrior from Ghana. No pussies make it up and out of Ghana to box. The guy has maintained employment with Tua and Cameron as a sparring partner so he can take some abuse. If not he'd be sent packing.

It's just another stoppage win and the guy running off stopped the fans from getting to see Chauncy finih destroying his body. He got body snatched and then ran.

Read my post again: I said "tough Tier 2" fighters. Calloway and Tauasa are not anywhere near Tier 2.
