Why did Lewis refuse the rematch?

Lewis was a shot man after Vitali beat the crap outta him, shot to ****.

and a shot man cant possibly beat a Klitshcko, so giving Vitali a rematch would have been a very bad idea

Vitali positively ended Lewis' career that night, had Lewis decided to keep on fighting, he'd be a wrecked, punch drunk, parkinson ridden mess today. Lewis did the right thing.

Lewis knew he didn't have the fire anymore.........plain n simple........and yes he beat Vitali in the only fight they ever fought so get over it.

 

The fight with Vitali was the straw that broke the camel back, yeah, Lewis had a lot of accumulated damage, but he wasn't a shot man before facing Vitali.After Vitali, he was.

His body took such a punishment that night that he wouldn't have been the same, even if he tried to keep on fighting lesser oponents while ducking Vitali. he would have accumulated more and more damage due to him being shot, and he'd be a mess today. In that sense, Lewis was more intelligent than the likes of Meldrick Taylor for sure

His 'actual' wins over ATG's like Sam Peter, Danny Williams, Shannon Briggs, Arreola...?

End of 6 Vitali led 58-56 on all three judges cards and he was taking Lewis's best shots.....I think this pretty much sums it up he didn't want to end his career with a loss

 

Lewis TKO6 Vitali when he was old and fat. Prime Lewis woulda killed him, he ripped half of Vitali's face off when he was unmotivated and at the end of an HOF career. Vitali quit against Byrd!!! Vitali will most likely not even go down in the top 20 heavyweights ever whereas Lewis is a shoe in top 6

Vitali fans are so pathetic all they have is his loss to Lewis and Lewis retiring despite Lewis kicking his ass after 15 years of fighting the best in the game. Vitali has no one on his reusme worth talking about so they need to use his loss to the only Great fighter he fought even though Lewis was way past his prime and still cut him up and stopped him legitimately beating his ass. Hahaha sad that his best accomplishment is getting stopped by someone good in 6 rounds hahahaha sad ass resume that Vitali has.

Lennox had nothing left to prove. The man had beaten EVERYONE that faced him in the ring. Had taken on all comers, ducked no one.
Lennox retired a Happy, Healthy, Very rich family man. I wish him a very long happy healthy life.
