I'm pretty sure they're only using him temporarily while they're in Vegas. That guy's normally with Zab Judah and other boxers in Vegas. That guy isn't doing pads for Nonito all the time in cali, or wherever it is he was doing the bulk of his training.

Lets not forget who is part of his team. I still respect Nonito to a certain level, but I wouldn't blame anyone if they have their doubts because of Victor Contes involvement.

    DOnaire!!

on a side note: does any other boxer work the mitts like floyd does? there was a video (24/7 i think) where Roger was explaining that most trainers use the mitts wrong..like it's just target practice instead of using it to teach the boxer how to counter

Thought I'd add the video of the interview I took, though not as exciting as the workout footage.

To give you some highlights if you even care and don't want to listen to it it all.

He's not interested in facing Rigondeaux any time soon. “He just came in the picture, and he’s calling me out. And that’s fine. But I believe that he’s a boring fighter. That’s straight out. He’s a boring fighter.”

He thinks Nishioka is the toughest matchup for him at super bantamweight but feels Jorge Arce is the most exciting fight for him in that division. “He’s southpaw. He’s taller. I’ve seen him, he’s a bigger guy. The thing with a shorter southpaw in Rigondeaux is I can box him all day. I can beat him with the jab. You get a guy who’s taller ,who has a longer reach, and who’s also southpaw, I think that’s why I aim for Nishioka, because that’s the hardest fight I can get at super bantamweight. But the most exciting fight I can get at super bantamweight has got to be Arce.”

He said he'd help Brandon Rios prepare to fight Yuriorkis Gamboa. “I told Robert [Garcia] already that if that fight happens, I’m going to go out there and help him out because I’m the fastest guy he’ll ever face. And a guy like Gamboa is strong and fast. I may be a small guy, but I still got a lot of power to help him out, to make him see speed, make him get accustomed to the speed of Gamboa.”

Says he wouldn't be afraid to fight Gamboa himself. “All the guys saying ‘you’re afraid, you’re afraid,’ you know what, if I’m afraid give me Gamboa. I’m not afraid to fight Gamboa, and I believe that Gamboa’s a hundred times better than Rigondeaux. That’s the type of fight I want. I think he’s exciting.”
