The most avoided man in boxing : Lucian Bute

Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in his personal tournament. Ward was the only boxer who did not have to travel in his personal tournament. Why? Showtime should force SOB to fight Bute, but I guess Ward told Showtime that he could not beat Bute. Ward is afraid.

 

I guess Farmboxer is a fan of any boxer who fights guys who are old, damaged, or both. Pacquiao, Bute, who necks?

 

He talks **** and lies like he convinced himself his telling the truth but he isn't avoiding Bute, he's home-sick

 

Froch has been fighting the best of the division for 3 years, hasn't had a home fight in over 2 years, he's entitled to a home fight

Whereas Bute WON'T leave home and has fought ...... we all know the level of competition Bute has been facing for 4 years :verysad

 

He's so avoided that all of the top 168lbers have near enough fought each other, yet Bute hasn't. But I guess that's the others avoiding Bute, right? Great logic.

Pascal and Dirrell seem to want to fight Bute and they would be good fights.

 

The logic is terrible. The TOP guys in the division have had NO problem stepping in with the other TOP guys. But they are scared to step in with Bute?

A number of guys have superior resumes than Bute, beaten arguably better, more experienced opposition. But they are all running scared of Bute. :-(

 

Here's my (long) take on this one:

I have nothing against Bute's level of competition until now. I agree that it wasn't necessary for him to take on Pascal or Hopkins during the S6, which were the only guys available, besides those who Bute fought already. Those two were the ones that Bute and his team refused to fight despite them showing interest in a Bute fight. No need to go to a catch-weight. I don’t blame InterBox at all for this approach, especially given the fact that they were chasing Pavlik, Froch, Ward or Kessler.

…But now things are different. Jean Bedard is incompetent at least. He must be stupid or something. By saying this I don’t mean to discharge Bute. It’s his people doing **** so he’s responsible for this also.

Let’s start by saying that his last fight was 2 months ago. He waited for the S6 final. OK ‘till now.
Great news came immediately after the final. Bute – Froch teams were already discussing a possible match.

Now things become interesting: there were like 4 articles in boxing media in the next 3 or 4 weeks that announced the same thing as if it was news.

The first news said that Bute and Froch are negotiating to fight each other, with each fighting once in the other’s guy backyard.

The second news told us that Bute and Froch are close to reach an agreement to fight each other, with each fighting once in the othere’s guy backyard, only minor details left to negotiate.

The third news told us that Bute and Froch are extremely close to fight each other, with each fighter fighting in bla, bla, bla (you catch my point). The **** went on for a month.
So I was going like: “What the F is happening here?”. What kind of negotiations are this? Are they sending emails one another which are redirected to the spam folder by mistake? Do they phone each other and go like: “Sorry, I’m at dinner with my wife right now, call me back on Monday”?. Even if they discuss 30 minutes/day they can reach a conclusion. Of course, by this time other guys decide to fight each other (see Hopkins vs Dawson). They aren’t going to wait and see if Bedard is closing a deal or not with Froch’s team in the next 200 years.
But this must be the cherry on the top: on 28.01 we have this “Team Bute: It’s Carl Froch Next - With Or Without U.S TV (Showtime)”. The next day we have this: “Froch is leaning to a UK clash in May, not Bute in April”. This is preposterous my friends! How the f*ck are these guys communicating? It’s either the news are false or those guys send messages to each other using pigeons. And these are not the only contradictions in what Bute team said and what the other teams claimed.

Nevertheless, if Froch vs. Bute is off there is only one thing Bute and his team must do. Tell the public what went wrong. I’m sick and tired of all the mysterious air InterBox is putting on. Had Froch changed his mind? The SCREAM from the bottom of your lungs that Froch ducked Bute. Show people what happened. Do you think I’ll swallow this one like nothing happened without specific explanations? Of course I won’t.
If you ask team Bute they are still in negotiations with Froch’s team when in fact Froch has already booked the arena in UK, ordered some fireworks for his ring entrance and printed tickets with his next fight against somebody else. WTF are InterBox thinking?

Now I’ll get to my second complaint: Bute’s team said on numerous occasions that he wants to take a tough fight so he can please his fans. He (and his team) said it so many times that they seem desperate to do that. But in fact they aren’t looking desperate at all.
Let me tell you this: there’s no need to be an “insider” to see the obvious. Bute has none left to compete against in April (fighting twice a year ain’t my cup of tea also; if you’re fighting lesser opposition, no matter the reasons, at least fight more often). There are only two fights possible. Even those are in danger of not happening if Jean decides to send emails to the guys that already said no. He should jump on Pascal right away and ask for a fight at a catch weight. F*ck the money, f*ck the effort. The situation is that desperate.
On the other hand, there’s still Dirrell. I hate to see this fight happening but I don’t understand InterBox’s hesitation regarding this NOW. Get Dirrell out on the ring. It’s not like he’ll fight Dirrell for peanuts. Showtime has paid good money for that fight, even if it’s ****. At least I would find that as a good excuse. I’ll consider it a mandatory.
So why the delay? Jean, call those guys already ffs. Don’t wait for the obvious to happen and act like taken by surprise afterwards.

To conclude, Froch didn’t duck Bute unless he admits it, like Ward did, or unless InterBox is bringing clear proof for this. It’s not my job to make assumptions based on 100 words articles from which more than half are taken from old news.

 

Bute was in attendance for most of these fights ..Good to know all he could do is watch these fights as opposed to actuallyt making them !

The only thing to explain Bédard last statement (Bute/Froch with or without Showtime) was to put pressure on Showtime so they accept the fight. But it was stupid because it gives Froch's team to ****ed Interbox...

Only Dirrell now is acceptable if they still want to stay at 168.

I'm really pissed as a fan and I really hope Interbox will fix this because right now they dont look good.
